The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Seems Trump is beginning to lose his grip on the republican party:
” In a remarkable rebuke of Republican leadership, the House passed legislation Thursday, 230-196, that would extend expired health care subsidies for those who get coverage through the Affordable Care Act as renegade GOP lawmakers joined essentially all Democrats in voting for the measure.”
I think there are a whole lot of traditional conservatives who are beginning to get fed up with his antics.
There’s also talk about passing legislation that would block him from pursuing Greenland.
The general pace of the chaos this time is making people dizzy.
Kidnapping a foreign leader, threatening to invade Greenland, trying to kill Putin, it's been a busy ten days...
Hughes, Tocchet, Miller, and Horvat are all a bunch of quitters
Currently one of my staff is with their spouse who is an American and in the hospital. The level of medical care is totally based upon the level of insurance. They had to limit the care because they didn’t have the greatest insurance.

Hmmm...I thought there was some Scottish force that fought in the Middle East et cetera over the years called The Black Watch.
So yeah....whoosh apparently....
Montreal based reservist regiment (as of right now anyways).
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

The Canadian Black Watch got into some trouble in Somalia years ago. I think that's what Topper was referring to.

"There are reports of groups of armed militias, known as colectivos, setting up roadblocks and searching vehicles for evidence of U.S. citizenship or support for the United States. U.S. citizens in Venezuela should remain vigilant and exercise caution when traveling by road."

Except, as I explained above [could the mods tell me how much of this board has me on "ignore"?], the regiment that got into some trouble in Somalia was the Canadian Airborne Regiment (since disbanded) and Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment of Canada) wasn't deployed there (or at least, I can find no reference to it). As Mëds notes, they have been a Reserve regiment for the past 50 years or so.

I have never blocked anyone at this website throughout my time here; certainly not you, RG. Thanks for clarifying. I must have skipped over your earlier comment.

^^^^....that is moreso what happens RG....sheer post volume and page flop after 15 posts results in a number of missed and subsequent repetitive dialogue/unseen comments....^^^^

I will explain (not justify) that this is something of a pet peeve of mine in modern communications generally. I was being too sensitive, and this is not the board for that.

We get excited when old posters return, and we wish we had more new ones, but we can scarcely handle the number of posts we have now.
I do not have an answer, but I submit that it is something that moderators should think about.
Unread posts or not going back a page to monitor the entire conversation is personal choice.
I read every post (other than the odd time I have blocked someone)...always have.
Not every one does.
But I do not always respond.
Que Sera Sera.
Also....what we can not see as posters is the nod of the head after reading posts and simply then carrying on with whatever is happening in our world at the time.
Or an intent to get back to it but life gets in the way.
If anyone should be upset about non-response to posts, to me it is UW.
The guy takes the time to craft quality epics often to little further discussion.
I am as much at fault as anyone on that one.
Topper tries to push conversations in certain directions and it often does not work.
I know that frustrates the hell out of him at times.
As far as old posters returning....Aaron, BoS, Topper, Tuzzi, rockalt and dbr have all been back of late and offering comments of significance.
The conversation has improved measurably as a result.
I put out likely a larger post volume than anyone here.
How many get a response?
Less than 20% for sure.
It is what it is....your shit is getting read.
...and yeah, block some fucking shots while you're at it.
