Pettersson will return a good pick if they deal him. I wasn't in favor of deaoijg the pick but Pettersson isn't some Sutter/Gudbranson type millstone.
...agreed, Marcus and Hronek are a decent enough first pairing for where we are currently at.
Marcus and Tyler are a good 2nd pairing.
Zeev needs to be with Phriendly Philip
This isn't even a fully committed retool on the fly, folks, and those are tricky enough to pull off.
What they're attempting to pull off here is a rare hybrid retool on the fly. Has it ever been attempted before? From thirty-second spot it will be truly miraculous if it works.
Can't gut the team of all the vets. I'm all for moving out two or three of Demko, Lankinnen, Boeser, Garland, Debrusk, Kane. I leave Petterssn, Myers and obviously Hronek alone. Someone has to shepherd these guys along.
Wierd time for Angry Brough to pop off. Trade freeze just lifted. They just traded their best player. Dude is so full of rage just like Jay Fat.

Garland and DeBrusk are probably the easiest to move in terms of cap hit to value.....if they waive their clauses. DeBrusk is a bit overpaid, but remaining term isn't bad and he's a useful player with the right group. Streaky, but useful. Wouldn't have to sweeten any deals there.
Demko is only of interest to a team that has everything except a goaltender.....or thinks they do. Edmonton comes to mind. If they were willing to part with something of value, I would make that trade and hope that he gets hurt and they end up not having that missing piece in the crease.
Lankinen is negative value.
Boeser is the least likely to waive (imehso), and frankly is the least attractive player to other teams right now in terms of cap hit to value. Put him with the right linemates and he could be a 30 goal scorer again for a couple more seasons at least.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Yeah, I agree. After the UFAs, they should try to move one or two more vets that can get us a few more picks.
Those young guys on D are our future, so you can't be trading away Hronek or even Myers and M. Pettersson just yet.
Keep Hronek, and one of the other two. I don't really care which.....and this is obviously dependent upon what the return would be. There is certainly value in having experienced top-4 defensemen on the roster to mentor the next wave.

Keeping Hronek is not even a question. You listen to guys like Buium, you understand how high Hronek is in their esteem. Myers you keep for mentorship until he retires after this contract. MP3 would be a good candidate to ship out if the return is right. Forbort… I barely consider him a Canuck anyway.
Having said all that, having a credible blueline can be a great insulators to a young forward core so careful how many veteran blueliners we wish away.
