Apparently DeBrusk will be a healthy scratch for tomorrow’s game.

I’m gonna assume you meant league wide parity…..Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 11:28 am Teams are probably reluctant to give up their 1st yet due to league wide parody. They want to see their teams over a longer run just in case they suffer injury or the like.
The ask being a 1st plus a prospect is rich especially this early. Desperate Jim Benning/Ken Holland/Mike Millbury types will sell their souls closer to the deadline
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Can we not move on about all the drivel regarding Mller and Pettersson?
There were half a dozen hard core dyed in the wool Miller supporters. I support neither guy. I pushed back on the "Scooterboy bullshit or 11.6" because it was so one sided. I'd get rid of both of them they way they behaved. Fact is I wouldn't have acquired either player. Never wanted either one at their time of acquisition.
I wanted Vilardi instead of Petterson. Unlike some flounders I don't make adjustments every hour.
I liked Miller he player when they got him and said as much. I questioned the timing. Then all of a sudden I'm a fan of Mukamadullin. Never heard of him until Dude and Lizzy said his name a thousand times. I was golfing with buddies up in Kamloops. We kept that pick in 2019 and blew another top 10 pick. Miller helped propel the team up to standing and the 2020 pick was went to Tampa. Had we not had Miller what he helped provide you could be looking at Lundell or Mercer or Seth Jarvis. So while I pan the trade, I liked the player. I wanna move on from this shit so I just probably need to ignore it.
I hope the new guys fit in, I'm going to give Rossi more than five games to do so. Let's try and tighten it up a bit people posting shit in every single thread that has nothing to do with said thread.

Mukhamadullin actually looked like a player last night, all joking aside.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:12 pm Can we not move on about all the drivel regarding Mller and Pettersson?

Hundo P. Agreed - and the irony is, EP40's return will likely be better than that of Miller. As it likely will include a 1st RP, which the idiots in Mgmt will likely keep at this point in the "rebuild" in a deep draft.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:12 pm Can we not move on about all the drivel regarding Mller and Pettersson?

Of course a gamble, but I would think whoever gets picked with that 1st Rd pick will be better than M.Petey in the end. If they can get an OK prospect as well, that would equal Mancini, and whomever gets thrown in to make the salary match, couldn't be worse than Chytil I'm sure.

Too bad we didn't have left handed 6'4" center Jack Nesbitt in our system instead of the pick we sent out for Markus Pettersson

It doesn't fit with the hybrid flytool, Cuz. A single first-rounder is all Cheap Bastard can stomach in one draft.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:53 pm Too bad we didn't have left handed 6'4" center Jack Nesbitt in our system instead of the pick we sent out for Markus Pettersson

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Well, it's decisions like this that has put us in this predicament since the end of the Sedins era. The AIG mandate to remain competitive.
When JR has a hard-on for someone, he doesn't keep his cards close to his chest. Instead he announces to the world his plan and will pay any price for the prize. That 1st rounder did not have to be immediately spent and certainly not on M. Pettersson.
We should want to lose badly this season, not just for a very good lottery pick, but that it takes the keys away from drunken sailors so they can't cause any more carnage.
Also, players exercising their NMCs to limited destinations aren't generally going to get you the best returns. That's business.

About time:
“In a surprising move on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks elected to have Jake DeBrusk skate as an extra ahead of their Monday night matchup against the Seattle Kraken. DeBrusk skated on a line with Filip Chytil and David Kämpf, both of whom were also extras.”

Hopefully pisses him off so he and his agent arrange for a trade somewhere for a new bag of pucks.

Pettersson will return a good pick if they deal him. I wasn't in favor of deaoijg the pick but Pettersson isn't some Sutter/Gudbranson type millstone.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 1:53 pm Too bad we didn't have left handed 6'4" center Jack Nesbitt in our system instead of the pick we sent out for Markus Pettersson

Its rotating the guys through the lineup. Hoglander and Raty need to play. Debrusk is not an issue.Picker of Cherries wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 2:04 pm About time:

...agreed, Marcus and Hronek are a decent enough first pairing for where we are currently at.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 3:06 pm Pettersson will return a good pick if they deal him. I wasn't in favor of deaoijg the pick but Pettersson isn't some Sutter/Gudbranson type millstone.
