He may be permanently scarred by Miller’s abuse. Chipped away at the kids swagger. Petey definitely needs his swagger back. He’s at his best when cocky.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:30 pm Dude has what 450 pts in 450 games?
His fitness levels haven't affected his ability to dominate before so why now? What happened last year to him?
The bully
The bully really fucked his noodle up. He'll probably have a career year now that he's free from the JTM naked aggression

Yah, WTF happened to the EP40 alien death stare. Millzy would have been shaking in his boots and pissing in his pants.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 5:55 pm He may be permanently scarred by Miller’s abuse. Chipped away at the kids swagger. Maybe after losing some of that hair, he lost some of that mojo as well.

If he really has put on the right weight the right way, that is a favourable omen for the upcoming season.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 12:26 pmWouldn't that be great, if he worked out like Gary Roberts - Van would be cup contenders in no time!Tciso wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 11:14 amIt looks like Gary Roberts kind of weight, not Shane O'Brian or Kyle Wellwood 6 kilos. Or, as a just married dude, he probably added 6 kilos doing some pre-wedding workouts.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 10:33 am Apparently Petey has mentioned he put on 6 kilos over the summer - 13lbs. Put in the work it seems.
Lets see how it translates, but the excitement of another season is building!
Glad he doesn't have the Roxy flu or love hotdogs like OB or Welly.
The Canucks still need considerable luck in other areas, but it's encouraging that the first news is positive.

He just got married. It is thru the roof. Doing 2 minute "wind sprints" with the new wife 10 to 15 times a day will do that.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

Doctor Strange-glove has always wanted Eastvander Kane on his team so we can expect some incoming positive reinforcement once the good doctor gets back from his opium bender down in chinatown

'Twas an emotional moment... I will admit...

I have never been a fan of the guy.
I am open to him changing my mind.
If he keeps his shit together in the room, on the ice and off it, then it's a start. After that, if he can play as good as he did in Edmonton, then I can come around.

I think Kane will be a positive addition for this upcoming season. He is on the last year of his contract and will be motivated to perform well to get one last big contract to set himself up. That being said, I, if I were the Canucks, would under no circumstances re-sign him. Also, they would be wise to try possibly sell high at the TDL on him.Lancer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:53 pm'Twas an emotional moment... I will admit...![]()

Depending on how his year goes, decides what his future is. I might resign him, but not to any great term or dollar amount. If he wants to resign as the 'next Corey Perry' contract, sure. I would do a million a year for a 4th line asshole.. this team needs more of that for the playoffs.theman wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 9:48 amI think Kane will be a positive addition for this upcoming season. I was also on the "don't sign this headcase" bandwagon, but have lightened up since then. I still think he'll take a lot of dumbass penalties, but could still end up a net-positive for the team. I hope/think his off-ice distraction days are behind him, and hopefully he'll want to put his best out there for the home team.
Just one more question mark in a season full of them.
