Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Publicly, the Sharks only took out Verhoeff and Carels for dinner, neither went out with the Canucks. Looks like they are focused of Dmen. If the Canuck dinner invites are generally thought to be the top four (McKenna, Reid, Stenberg, Malhotra), it also looks like the Sharks could trade down to get ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Biggest winners with the Malhotra hiring will be Kudryavtsev and Mueller.

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next Coach (post GM hire) of the Nucks?
Pretty common in the NHL for new managers to hire people they trust and share philosophy with, and target people in their old organizations. Pretty sure Evan Gold would have brought in his own inbred sycophants just like the rest have. Rutherford brought Allvin, M. Pettersson… Benning brought W ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26
The Canucks won’t have a taker for Gallagher at the TDL if he couldn’t crack the Canadiens lineup for most of the playoff run, so he is a pure cap dump. I’d want a first to take him. There is better use for 6.5m next season for veteran players that could resurrect themselves that the Canucks can move ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Almost everything I read now has the Canucks picking Malholtra, so that means they won’t be picking him. Since when have the experts ever been right? Rutherford usually leaked who they were thinking of taking. Willander was out with the media long before they picked him. I prefer GMs who are s ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
McKenna to get a big salary star with lots of points. Carels to win cups. And Stenberg? Had a chat with AI on this one. I think I agree with this order: To rank them for “who contributes most to winning a Stanley Cup”, I’m weighting: ability to drive play at 5v5 in playoffs defensive reliability und ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Cam Robinson was saying he heard the Canucks are still debating between Stenberg, Malhotra and Verhoeff.
With Todd Harvey being particularly high on Verhoeff.
No mention of my pick Carson Carels

Mr Aquilini would have Hronek’s 7.25 for multiple years off the books and add Ellis’ 6.25 for one season.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2026 6:31 pm What I think nixes the deal is Mr Aquilini picking up Ryan Ellis' contract.
No can do...
Strictly money speaking, that should be doable.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
They can trade Hronek once they have secured the first overall next year.
With the first pick they draft DuPont to replace Hronek, and use the first rounder they get for Hronek to draft a centre in next year’s centre heavy draft.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Malkin and Caleb both called Nash uncle Steve. They both trained together. If Caleb’s late season impressive play was impressive enough, would they ask Malkin what he wants? Would it be shocking for SJ to take Caleb with the second pick and trade other forwards for help on D?

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Viggo Björck has looked really good at the world championships, playing on a line with Raymond and Stenberg. Craig Buttons (TSN) now has him in fourth place: 1. Gavin McKenna 2. Ivar Stenberg 3. Carson Carels 4. Viggo Björck 5. Chase Reid I agree with Button’s top three for BPA, but lots of people h ...
