Re: 2025-26: OOTS Thread

Canucks one point away from glory! If they win every game left and the Hawks lose all their remaining games in regulation they’ll be tied at 68 pts and the Canucks will have a couple more wins to take the tie breaker. Otherwise the Canucks have a wonderful dirge parade down Robson! https://youtu.be/a ...

I think the Canucks can win this one because Torts won’t feel comfortable in this new position since he hasn’t had a chance to get his Murphy bed installed yet.

Magic number down to six points. Three more regulation loses and… ummm… will there be a parade?

Two thirds of the way towards the rare Hoglander hat trick, a goal, accidentally knockig down a ref, and benched by Foote the next game.

Losing is winning. It reduces the Flames lottery odds. Garbage time wins are the worst. It causes Calgary fans pain. I’m all for that.
Makes no difference to me if the Canucks win or lose as long as the kids play well.
3-2 Flames.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

I’m assuming you mean moving Hronek out in a few years. Yup, no rush as Reid/Verhoeff and Willander develop. But if they get a great offer for Hronek, there would be no reason to hesitate since they should still be in rebuild mode for a couple seasons, and results don’t matter as much as acc ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

If the take a RHD in the draft (Reid or Verhoeff) then it will be a deeper (longer) rebuilt and Hronek is the logical guy to move out for forward help. I’m not saying that is the wrong move. With Verhoeff/Reid and Willander as likely the top two RHD in the future it would make sense to get a haul f ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

I think one of those two wingers will end up being there at number three. Many teams will choose one of the defensemen - Reid, Carels or Verhoeff - over a winger at number two based on positional value (and maybe BPA). I won’t be surprised if Vancouver is the only team that would actually take S ...

Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)

Pettersson isn’t going anywhere this off season….sorry to burst everyone’s bubble. He is still leading the team in scoring. He has the weakest group of wingers to play with in the NHL, and management will keep him around. Kane, DeBrusk and Boeser as Pettersson’s most consistent wingers haven’t played ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Button’s list has Stenberg and Verhoeff falling off a bit and perhaps both available to the Canucks at number three, with a group of Dmen moving up. The Ruck twins look ridiculously high on his list, but what do I know. If there were a way to trade down and get both Malhotra and Belchetz for the t ...

Add a Canucks loss to this and it was a productive night.
Magic number 12 point (6 more regulation loses) or if the Rags can win another game (doubt it), that would help.
