Did all the other ex-Captains take out ads in the papers when they left? Maybe QH just didn't want to spend the money

I think the team is just too busy ordering rings to post a proper tank you sendoff on their social media.

It's insane. I wached the Wings game today. They had the Mom's trip. As far as I can tell the Canucks haven't had a mentor's trip since Feb 2024. Get off your wallets you grubby wops. Buy an old strip mall near downtown and throw in a couple sheets of ice and build adecentpractice facility. Be more vocal and spend more time with Childrens Hospital, Canuck Place and Ronald Mcdonald House. Get the alumni more involved. Bring back Krazy George. Get some Can con on the team tell EP to shit or wind his watch. And get the fucking Prospects Tourney looped in with Penticton again.
I'm so close to buying some doucats for the Memorial Cup.
Fucking idiots.

Blob, I live near a large, valuable piece of land owned by Aquilini development. This recent economy has taken a HUGE chunk out of the Van real estate development industry. You know it like everyone in the GVRD, the market is really bad.
I'm sure many of his projects are stalled due to costs and unsold inventory. It hurts his true money source.
I'm wondering if the owners are even really focusing on the hockey team. That isn't saying El Cheapo is doing right by his hockey employees and customers, not at all. Nickel and diming his team over some rings and forgetting his Abby customers is so short-sighted.

I watched half a period of that game, and I was thinking the same thing when I saw the moms. Was the last one here really 2014?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 1:11 pm It's insane. 2024. But the point stands. I hear the team hasn't even been to Canucks Place this season.

All the more reason to liquidate a valuable asset that doesn't return much cash flow.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 1:20 pm

No retention.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 12:40 pm So Carolina lost Jarvis long term. Can they cover the Pettersson contract if the Canucks retain a mill or 2?

You continue to mention a sale which we would all like to see (careful what you wish for however - John McCaw and his cohort Stan) but I don't know RG.Ronning's Ghost wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 6:09 pmAll the more reason to liquidate a valuable asset that doesn't return much cash flow.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 1:20 pm

2.2 billion valuation with 240 million in revenue and 40 plus in operating earnings (ebitda).
Solid operational performance and decent cash flow opportunity appear in place.
(...I understand ebitda #'s can influence profitability statistics upwards and do not represent represent actuals with respect to cash in hand but regardless this appears a solid model and profitable endeavor for AIG - not to mention ownership automatically makes them more handsome with bigger dicks......)

More of the ongoing soap opera - today's scribblers are going with this:
All seems valid.Following Quinn Hughes' departure from the Vancouver Canucks, new insights have emerged regarding the volatile dynamics within the team's locker room.
Reports indicate that the relationship between Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes deteriorated over time, with Hughes growing increasingly frustrated with Pettersson's work ethic.
The two players, who initially formed a strong bond upon arriving in Vancouver, had been close friends. Hughes reportedly played a significant role in supporting Pettersson through last season's JT Miller situation and subsequent fan backlash.
Nevertheless, lingering concerns regarding Pettersson's offseason preparation had been evident within the team, ultimately straining his relationship with Hughes.

Who would want to spend 2.2 billion to get 40 million of revenue a year? It's insane. It only makes sense from a growth perspective.
Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Agreed.
Which goes back to the Topper reasoning for original purchase.
Not to win.
To achieve growth of asset via increasing team and land valuations.
Which they achieved.
So who is going to buy it?
Dudes buying teams in this millenium have Steve Ballmer or Walton family net worth.
Who is that for the Canucks?
