I have lived in Edmonton for a while now. I love this city TBH.

Edmonton actually is a pretty nice city on the south side of the ditch but they're ruining it with the skidtrains pumping bums into the better areas.

I lived there in the 90’s, and then again for a couple of years in 2004-8.

In the 90’s, it had a kind of blue-collar community vibe which was good, in an honest way. Yeah, the LRTs and the stations could sometimes be a zoo, and Chinatown was sketchy AF, but I liked it.

Come back, and it’s gone cold. Everybody just there to make their money and spend it, and fuck anyone else. Just not the same place.

But don’t get me started about their fans when they’re winning - same as it ever was.

Edmonton, just like Calgary is great, except for the people, climate, crime, meth heads, traffic, etc.
In other words, not places I would want to live. Yeah I know - the climate here in Olds is about the same, but everything else is great.

Yeah we do - they actually have places to live other than on the streets

Yeah, that's one of the first things my wife said when we moved here - lots of retired people. I'm in a new area and it is at least 80% retired people, including many retired farmers and people from other provinces such as BC and Ontario. So, I fit right in
