Jim Benning has been pretty darn good since the calendar rolled into 2017. He deserved a lot of the grief he got prior to that. No idea why anyone wants to continue harping about it now though. He’s landed us two of the best young players in the game. Franchise type players that you build around.

I thought they had to get to the next round.... like the final 4 for the pick to be that high. Either way even at 20 or 21 along with the 3rd, it’s been a great trade. I liked Miller’s game before he got here, but he found another gear. I think he’s embraced being a leader here and he seems like a popular player among the guys. I’ve farted out a few black feathers on this one because I thought it was a thick price. It turned out not to be.

You shit kick his first 3 years but ole Chef here loves a lot of things Jimbro Benning did pre 2017. Drafting - Virtanen, McCann (Pearson), Demko, Tryamkin in 2014, getting Boeser 23rd overall and Gaudette in the 5th round in 2015 cannot be overlooked. In 2016 the Sutter trade is looking good for us, watch out for Lockwood. The BOOK IS NOT written in Juolevi. He truly did alright pre 2017. You need to consider the years required to drain the Gillis swamp.
