China and India are a long way away from being allies. India and Pakistan just had a good row in May of this year, and Pakistan is pretty firmly in China's pocket. Plus, India and China have had tons of skirmishes; the latest in 2020/2021.
These 2 nations are natural enemies, and I don't see them ever getting too close. Trump will get them in the same room once in a while, but they will revert to their long term simmering hate once he is gone.
Trump has a little over 3 years left. Is 3 years long enough for the history of animosity between China and India to be forgotten to the point that they could ally the way the WW2 Axis did? I can’t see that. I can see some thicker economic bonds, but not of the sort that would polarize India towards the US in such a way that a new administration in Washington could not repair the damages relatively quickly.

The forces of the worlds power shift to China may give other countries no choice but to mend fences with the new world order that is China, past enemies or not, sink or swim. I don’t think even a new president can save the American (Western) Empire at this point. There is some momentum building in Canada, pressures within, to start working with China. America is done or on their way to being knocking down a couple tiers. They just got stupid over the last 75 years from looking in the mirror at themselves since WWII, the meantime China has been working the long game since.

In the same way that the constantly warring little nations of Europe have been dragged together under the US security blanket and have been at peace with each other for the past 80 years. Now that that system is crumbling, the Eastern powers are gathering together under the leadership of China. Perfidious Albion (Britain) is behind most of those problems originally anyway.
