Here we go again. Risk of a wide spread infection from this is low but still....how long will it be before a deadly virus escapes from one of these labs and causes another pandemic.

The likelihood of it escaping from a lab in a country with proper containment protocols is extremely low.

So the solution for Canada is the same as the one that would have worked last time: people travelling to Canada from a country, or on an airplane from a country, where the likelihood is noticeably higher wait in mandatory quarantine (not self-isolating at home) until they are cleared.

It could add a whole new revenue stream for the tourism sector: base-level quarantine, luxury quarantine, etc. Oh, and the penalties for breaking quarantine, or for facilitating someone else breaking quarantine, have to be absolutely terrifying, and enforcement has to be visible.
