Good Canadian Kid

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I got ahead of myself on the scheduling.

Auger-Aliassime will play Novak Djokovic Wednesday not Sinner.

Still a tough match but he can legit win this one.

Summer McIntosh knocked off the longest standing women's world record. 200m butterfly previously set in 2009.

Really looking forward to seeing what she does in LA in '28.

She could absolutely dominate the pool....

McIntosh withdraws from her last few competitions due to health and her coach wants her to now focus on preparing for the Pan Am Games.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Felix Auger-Aliassime enters the final tennis major of the year, the US Open, as the 3rd ranked male (world #1 Janik Sinner is injured hence the elevation for Felix from his world rank of 4).

Highest Canadian men's seed ever in this tournament.

Milos Raonic was 5th seed twice a decade or so back.

Auger-Aliassime plays his first match tomorrow.

He has reached the semis twice the latest last year when he lost to Sinner.

Pretty heady stuff to be 3rd seed.

Other Canadians.

Denis Shapovalov, unseeded, won his first round match today.

Leylah Fernandez, seeded 31, won her first round match today.

She has actually made a final, in 2021, when she lost to Emma Radacanu.

As an aside Radacanu is as cute as a button.

The US Open can be a fun watch...it breathes a bit of New York and can get rowdy and intense.....
