Sorry - I just have very little faith in the media to report actual news, vs random (possibly made up) hearsay.

Sure, fair enough.

But it's the dog days of summer and what's out there is out there and available for reporting discussion.

It had enough legs that a Penguin beat writer and Lalji chose to comment.

So bringing it up is fair game all that considered....

Can't figure out why Cornuck is choosing to heavily scrutinize the media rumours during the summer.....I think maybe he's become as jaded as the rest of us towards this team. :P
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

West Coast team. Lots of the kind of trade capital that RJ would want. Cheaper alternative to Carlsson - albeit older and contingent on a comeback.

See how this offer sheet drama shakes out, and make your pitch, RJ. ;)
I like that kind of thinking.

Cheerful summer daydreaming fodder.

ElitePouter40 gone and a couple of first round picks returned to a management team that has not yet crushed our fantasies of competence could see the '30 Canucks be a real juggernaut.

Yeah. Verbeek could sell a $6.4M cap space savings as a win.....especially if Scooter managed to bounce back to even being a 70 point pivot. It would leave money for Gauthier and perhaps more.

Facts are a player like Scooter if scoring 65 - 70 points a year winning 50% draws and being a defensive zone asset is probably worth 10 mill per sooner than later anyway.

So a market for him is arguable.

The salary cap going up changes things markedly, it seems. That, and a weak FA class. Hopefully RJ can do to some club what Bill Armstrong did to Benning with the OEL deal.

Not that there's no pressure on management, but at least there's not the kind of pressure that makes GMs make stupid trades and signings.

If the Dickless Swede can manage 70 pts with teases of more in Anaheim, Verbeek would be relieved. If he manages the same with Vancouver next season, hopefully (with the proper incentivization of the Dickless Swede to leave Vancouver for good) a bigger market would arise for him.

First decision point on Scooter's future is training camp day 1 fitness testing. May not have to be #1 but has to be close to the top.

If he makes it past that, second decision point is the 1st inter squad scrimmage. Dominate or pack up.

He has been told he needs to take this seriously, lets see if he has.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

If that flake is still a member of this club come training camp, the new management has failed already.

Actually, as down as I was on this team at the end of last season, I have a small spark... an ember that could ignite in 2 or 3 years. I'm (very) cautiously optimistic to see what TNFGs™ can do.
