To add...Carter Hart has let in some rough ones as well.
Hey at least the Conn Smythe isn't going to a goalie again this year. Leading candidates are Marner (oh how sweet this would be) or Jordan Staal of all players. Wild

Canes are 1 win away!
Their new goalie was Bussi in net. Faced 25 SOG.

Torts is ride or die with Carter Hart, lol. At least we won't have to look at his smirking face behind the bench next year.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2026 10:01 pm To add...Carter Hart has let in some rough ones as well.

What a year. We all thought Vegas changing the coach with a week left in the season was extreme. The canes fired their starting goalie after game 3 of the finals! Dafuq!

Vegas ran out of gas and answers I guess. I'm gonna give those Carolina guys credit for being tough little fuckers. They ate some beatings from Vegas and still had all the answers.
One and done for Torts in Vegas?

Re: 2025-26 OOTS: Playoffs Edition
Barring some miracle, looks like the Canes will finally do it after 8 consecutive cracks at it.
Obviously, I'm excluding the JR cup, which I'm beginning to question if that wasn't a complete fluke. He was so incompetent here, I can't believe he has 3 rings. But I digress...
I'm happy for Dundon, who hired the right people and (mostly) got out of the way and let them do the job. They drafted, built and retooled. Licked their wounds each time and came back to try again.
That's how you do it Frank. Do it the right way, open the window, keep adding ammo to extend the window until you complete the task.
I doubt if we see this and learn from it.
The only sad thing if they do win tonight is... the EP trade talk is likely forever dead.

We can still fantasize about some other team being willing to give up an asset to get him.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 7:13 pm The only sad thing if they do win tonight is... the EP trade talk is likely forever dead.
The ol' "change of scenery/organizational fit" argument.
Re: 2025-26 OOTS: Playoffs Edition
Thank god that’s over with. Now we can focus on the draft, trades and free agency.
P.S. congrats Carolina, I have always had a soft spot in my heart for you guys.

The original stinky whale!
If that stinky whale can make it, why can't this stinky whale?

I started out the series rooting for Vegas, but switched halfway through. I just can't take that guy.

Re: 2025-26 OOTS: Playoffs Edition
I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Canes did it with a bunch of shrimps. I gotta give credit where credit is due. Their top scorer, Aho was kinda meh all playoffs (almost EP40 like), but it didn't matter, they find a way to win anyways. A total team effort. I always liked Brind'amour, so happy to see him win as player & Head Coach. Didn't really want to see Torts, Marner and Vegas win anyways.
Jalen Chesterfield was a bit injury prone when we had him, but man, he looks much more beefy & thicker now, so he can play that junkyard dog style back there and not get injured. He must have been eating his wheaties and working out with Rod the Bod.
Man, just noticed this as well, J.Stall was drafted the same year as J.Toews. Toews won all those Cups/Olympics, looked done, came back this yr and looks done again, but here is Stall captaining a team to a Cup & wins the Conn Smythe to boot. Unfreaking believable.
