15 years ago today.
I was in the corner on the red line to see that go in (remember those seats AP? I sent you to a game back in the day...i think Blue Jackets maybe...when you were still working with your Dad I believe??) at the precise moment of the goal as we went up 2 squat and turned to my old man & buddy & said...
"We're gonna win the fucking Stanley Cup...."

And yeah, taking that game I thought the same thing. There was no reason to think anything else at that point. The city was nuts!

Sounds like it might be in a player development role.

let's run it back
Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Heard a interview with Raty today. He mentioned that he was unable to train last off-season due to injury and how he was looking forward going into this off-season healthy and jacked from winning the worlds. Plans on focusing on improving his skating. Should be a improved season for him.UWSaint wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2026 10:04 amRaty and Mancini certainly seemed underdeployed last year for a team with no shot that needs to develop players. Now, Mancini didn't do anything to demonstrate that he had a good shot at being a impactful NHL player, but maybe Manny can unlock something. Raty, I think, has a capped ceiling but a capped ceiling that has value to the league. If he develops to that ceiling and is not a good fit to complement the next core, he will still be movable for value to the team he would complement better. Its very realistic to see Raty become a Jason Dickinson-like player, and as much as a joke as JD was when he was in Vancouver, the fact is that he earned a raise after he was (stupidly) dealt with a sweetener, he was part of package that brought a good return to the Hawks, and it won't surprise me if he sees another raise this offseason as a UFA in a class that's not deep.
It's all about the lowered expectations

He's still pretty young despite being in the league for what seems like a decade. I hadn't heard he was hampered from training last summer by injury and would certainly explain why he seemed to have lost a significant step in his development and skating

I’m travelling until July 3rd so I’ll be doing a lot of one finger stuff and I’ll miss the draft.

If a Dale Tallon doesn't get his contract renewed, does anyone hear it?

Don't know about Tallon, but FA Lil' Trojan has been making enough noise about a reunion that Topper should be able to hear it deep in the mine shafts.

I saw that too. All the rejects and cast offs will be looking for a soft bed to land on and "mentor" some prospects- AKA long summers off with little expectations
