Re: 2026 NHL Draft
As noted yesterday Dude is solidifying his #1 spot.
Also have been reading a lot about Stenbergs overall quality and # of top end boxes ticked.
Cuz may be correct after all about this player.
If it goes:
McKenna
Reid
Malhotra
Stenberg (with Bedard and Frondell ffs)
....I won't know what to say.

They don't call them funbags because they're boring to play with

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
What has our Albortan Shed Dweller been saying about this player? I haven’t been paying attention.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Is there anyone in the draft considered to be a "Franchise" player to build around?
Didn't think so.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
You mean like a Schaffer? No. But there are a handful of guys that can be top line players and first pair D. Those don't get the "franchise" moniker if that's reserved for the likes of the McDavids and Mackinnons, but they can be players to build around with a couple other guys of similar quality.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
I just heard some discussion with The Athletic draft guys and Scott Wheeler said the big 6'8" 240 lb Russian D is rocketing up the charts late and should go in the first round. He's 17 guys.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
We could likely grab him with our 41st. But I'm not sure he would create safe spaces for our opponents.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Interesting take on McKenna from scouts being interviewed at the combine. The gist of it is he is going to be a regular season star who doesn't move the needle once the intensity ramps up. A guy who racks up the points but doesn't win you the big games come spring

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Panarin has only had 2 playoffs where he’s been a Pettersson-esque no show. In 6 of the other appearances he has been pretty much a 1.0PPG player.
I’d take McKenna still. You just have to recognize that in the playoffs you need a Batman to his Robin.
