Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
So, I've said many times how noticeable and refreshing the culture change appeared the last month of the season or so.
I wonder if that's just a skew in our perception in that we were just so used to what it was like before that we forgot what normal looked like. In other words, it's nothing special to get excited about. Most teams are tight, ours never was.
Whatever's the case, just hope that part of the crap is fixed and we can move on to the other pressing need of acquiring talent, and loads of it.

This is arguably the most damning indictment on this management team: making the Dickless Swede untradable. The least competitive, least resilient, most wet blanket in a room guy; arguably the root of the room's dysfunction... and they not just tied their horse to his eggshell wagon - they gorilla-Glued themselves to the waste of cap space.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 5:04 am The stench remains til 40 is moved as well. Maybe Conroy and Old Fart can compare notes on how to get rid of their boat anchors. They came via different paths, but for all our shade-throwing at Calgary management for taking on Huberdeau in the Tkachuk trade, we have our own homegrown Huberdeau. At least we only wasted a draft pick to get him.

Ona a happier note, 9 years after we traded Burrows for Dahlin, and then Dahlin for Karlsson, we got a good year of hockey out of Karlsson. What surprises me is we made 2 good trades for declining assets, and then stuck with Karlsson for 6 years as he grew into an NHL player. I know this is business as usual for a lot of clubs, but for us, it's an outlier. And, given the shit we are in, we need those outliers to become common occurances.

I do enjoy the ongoing Karlsson-taking-Burrows'-mantle narrative. Even if he never becomes more than a 3rd-liner, that's a pretty good career for a longshot.Tciso wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 4:58 pm Ona a happier note, 9 years after we traded Burrows for Dahlin, and then Dahlin for Karlsson, we got a good year of hockey out of Karlsson. I enjoy watching LK. No Burrows physically but all kinds of crafty, very smart offensive player just kind of slow

Too bad it took 9 years to bear fruit, but nice to see that sometimes selling expiring assets at the deadline actually works.
A practice we rarely, almost never take part in under this ownership until this year. Had a golden opportunity again last year with Brock and Pius. Couldn't find interest, hogwash! It's the owner getting his big fat nose in it again. Remember we were much closer to a playoff spot last year but Waternoodle wanted to hold on to those guys for the push. Just like every other year we have a chance to maximize asset value and fail to do so. This year they were so far out of it it was easier to convince him, simple as that.

Speaking of expiring assets I would like them to reunite the Celebrini brothers for a decent return.
The only HW the Canucks need

On Wednesday, the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation announced its roster for the 2026 IIHF Men’s World Championship. Among the players named to the team are forwards Nils Hoglander, Liam Ohgren, and Linus Karlsson. Tom Willander was also asked but declined, saying he wanted to start working on his off season plan???? No Petterssons??

Hope Hoglander gets a chance to hit the offseason on a high note.
I don't know what happened to the kid, but he looked a little broken out there. Lot of energy and effort that led to... nothing.
