Watching the Kingston-Ottawa Game 4. Dervin was giving off Welly-vibes: skilled but butter-soft. Good on face-offs, though.
…then he gets wiped-out on a blindside hit. Haven’t seen him since; kid’s probably in concussion protocol.
Talking with a contact from Frontenacs management, seems they’re counting on him coming back next year to help the next wave of youngsters. I can definitely see that happening. Kid’s a project at best.

Isn't he headed off to the NCAA next year? I know that was the original plan; he only showed up in the CHL at all because of the new eligibility rules.Lancer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 5:48 pm Watching the Kingston-Ottawa Game 4. Saw that afterwards. Admittedly, the guy who told me works in their marketing vice hockey ops side, so he may not have the fullest inside knowledge. Kid seriously needs to bulk up, though, regardless.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 3:36 pmIsn't he headed off to the NCAA next year? Yeah, I thought it was a weird pick at the time, but he was always going to be a guy we looked at after 2-3 years of college.Lancer wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2026 5:50 pmSaw that afterwards. Keeping an interested eye on both he and Romani who had a a decent first year at MSU and seems to have gained a little weight as well reporting in at 6' 1" 195, 10 lbs or so over his draft weight of 185.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
Kirill Kudryavtsev has been called up. This is one player I was interested in during his junior years.
I hope we get to see him in at least one of the remaining 5(?) games.
As I mention with other prospects before, it's not about "earning" a call-up as there is often times nothing to do with earning it. Many here have gotten more than they have ever earned. Sometimes it's positional need due to injuries and in this case, it's the perfect time to get a look-see at prospects when you're mired this deep in shit that a game or two doesn't matter.
When you're out of the playoffs by December, giving even one game to a someone who's 8 years in the system and who has given your minor league team a championship, it's simply good asset management. Maybe you can make it easier to move that prospect or at least sells hope to your other assets that you're not buried for life with no hope.
That is all and nothing more.
