Always got a kick out of this 2 yrs ago when we had that playoff run. Hopefully 1 way or another, it will happen someday. :D

Make Celebrini the first 20m man. Max term will be seven years when he is available for an offer sheet.
They should happily make a 7x20m offer sheet.

Yeahno.

Sorry.

TFG are gonna have to build their own team.

Why would either of those kids elect to come to this shit show organization with what may be the worst ownership group in pro sports in order to be used as a cash generator as opposed to an asset in building a Cup winner?

It's 2026.

Players don't look at a crest which hung on their wall as kids, they gauge entire business models to maximize their brand.

Bedard as top gun on an original 6 with a second in Frondell now in town creating a real Kane/Toews comparable, not whatever animated, cartoon version we have been discussing at this here GDHTMB, and Celebrini as the same on an up and coming team with years of success ahead of them, one of his best buds (Smith...another legit Kane/Toews scenario) on the squad and his family in town due to his old man's job.

Because they liked the Canucks as kids?

Get over it.

Not happening.

The other JT did it, Tavares. He even took a team friendly contract on his most recent deal.

Also, if a guy wants to "maximize his brand" why not do it in a hockey mad city/country in Canada? McDavid & A.Matthews are doing exactly that and doing pretty good for themselves. I see them in non-hockey related advertisement all the time. Don't think they get those kind of endorsement deals in American cities that don't really care about hockey.
