Give the Baldies this: they haven't done too bad in the returns for they got for shipping out players.
They could've done worse for sure. Also could've done better if not for flipping the 12OA pick and/or did the wise thing and stayed away from Chytil's melon issues.
All in all, I'd give them a C+/B-, or maybe better an incomplete grade because there is still an opportunity to flip some of those pieces to hopefully better/future ones to branch out the trade tree. You're not going to get much if anything for Chytil and Metey now, but perhaps down the road if they come back fully healthy and improve their games. Not counting on it, but there's also DOC and Rossi, who I think we can for sure recoup some good value for in the not too distant future.
Pens picked up another draft pick, and Girard for Kulak.
They are doing a great job in gathering as many darts to throw at the board as possible. Hope Van is watching.
"Pittsburgh now has 34 draft picks over the next four NHL drafts, which includes 20 selections in the first three rounds. No team has more selections over the first three rounds in the next four drafts than the Penguins." - Pen's Webpage.

When I first heard about this trade I thought the second went the other way and the Avs were going to flip it for a rental.
I get the Avs wanting to get a bit longer, and I admit to bit tracking Girard closely this year, but in years past he’s struck me as a better overall player than Kulak (and 4 or 5 years younger), though again, he might not fit what the Avs need as well as Kulak. In some ways it’s a hockey trade that might improve both teams’ blueline given what they’ve got, and Dubas got a 2d to boot. Tidy tidy work.
Yeah I was surprised with this deal. Girard is decent top four, but may have been displaced by Malinski. Looks more like a cap dump in prep for further deals for Col.
That, and Kulak is a pretty solid playoff performer, raising his game in the postseason and brings size and stability for a long run. Teams need this kind of depth.
Holy crap. A useful article from Canucksarmy this morning!
Ty Kartye from Seattle is on waivers. Slow skater who hits everything. 1.25m
We need to clear a rsoter spot, claim him, trade a couple dudes, then bring whomever we sent down back up. Need some plugs to fill the holes we are about to create with the trades that happen these next few days.
Tally Ho!! To the Wavier Wire!!
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

Yeah. We will need a few plugs once Kane, Blueger, Kampf and Boeser are traded. Maybe he can go to power skating skool this summer?
