It's all good Don. Just wanting to supply relevant info that the old man wasn't just throwing cash around for no reason at that time
That said he needs to be flushed and the new era ushered in. We've all had enough
If you need air...call it in

Man - I had to laugh at this one...Jim Rutherford and GM Patrik Allvin didn’t want to be known as the ones who sent Pettersson packing

Rumour:
Would that be enough for members of this board?

Re: The Petey Predicament
Laferriere isn't a centre, so that doesn't really put us in a good spot - even a 2C, 3C would be better - and it would depend on the prospect - but grabbing another 1st seems like a great idea.theman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 24, 2026 3:57 pm Rumour:

More media guessing, but there's also the question of retention....
It will be interesting to see his game in the first few post-Olympic games. Refreshed? Or a dead cat bounce?
Re: The Petey Predicament
I’d be willing to take less for the player if it meant zero retention. Not looking to give him away, but a package of picks would be more preferable than a middling winger and a pick.
I’m with you Donny. I’ve been done with this washout since the day Miller was dealt. The faint glimmer of hope I maintained for this rendition was dashed the moment his NMC kicked in last summer.
Good riddance.

I think if there’s any where EP40 would want to go it’s LA where he can be anonymous, his wife would be happy, may scooter paths.
But you know what would happen: the receiving team that has real doctors instead of a chiropractor will confirm that he was playing through tendinitis and that he now has a chronically weak knee or knees. This will void the trade and cause the Aquilinis to feel shame and…oh wait that part is pure fantasy

Re: The Petey Predicament
Honestly, we aren't seeing a player with 1C potential back in any trade for Pettersson.....especially if the return includes a 1st round pick and there's not retention attached to the Canucks.
We all know my opinion. I won't bother reiterating.
The best we can hope for in a potential deal with LA is that we get a guy like Laferriere back with a 2026 1st rounder AND hope that Petey's brain makes it impossible for him to adjust quickly to the new locale and the Kings fail to make the playoffs giving us another lottery pick and a trio of 1st rounders in this draft.
I would consider moving the Kings' pick after the lottery, depending upon where it shakes out in the order in an effort to acquire a player who is (or soon will be) a top-6 pivot under the age of 23.....I have no idea who that might be, just what I would look for.

Re: The Petey Predicament
Dhaliwal was saying on his show that teams are interested in EP but want retention of up to $3M per season to keep his salary for his new potential team under $10M/yr.
These fucking guys are the gift that keeps on giving...
We can't get a 1C back, but honestly, are we trading away a 1C? Given the chance over the last 25 months, he certainly hasn't proven to me he's a 1C.

...or Ricky might be alluding that other teams want to start negotiations by low-balling and/or they feel the dude is really only worth around $8.5M?
