New Season, New Posting Rules

If it's in here, it's probably a good idea to read it.

There was plenty of avail.

It was toned down a hell of a lot compared with a few years ago, no? It wasn't completely taking over threads anymore.

They both at heart are good guys I agree.

They both are long time, solid posters.

A lot of us have decades of time with them.

They both know the game and have intelligent, pertinent takes.

Users at the site can fuck around, jab and bob and weave as part of the "kibitzing" of familiarity.

We are also trying to create a place to intelligently talk hockey and the team with the hopes of drawing more interest.

Some things, like the Bennning battle for instance, need to take a back seat to moving forward conversation.

It's been beat to death.

Corn is on holidays.

From a Democratic perspective perhaps the Mods can discuss this further when he gets back after the room has been read a bit and we can revisit.

I don't want to be that guy... as I don't know if Brian weighed in on this, or if the Mods feel like the site doesn't fit their vision etc.

But in the interest of the democratic process, perhaps a poll needs to be run regarding this?

Maybe Tciso can start another Fascism thread with this poll?

Just kidding! (Don't ban me!)

Just ask those who post here, if they feel like BD and Hargraves needed this treatment? Or do we replace them with some random ex CDC posters?

Sorry Donny, must have misread that. Thought you were talking about the "Mods discussing" this decision. Not the board's posters.

If that is what you meant - then all for it.

That's what read the room meant JPP.

Discuss away....maybe we come up with the most solid end result for the site.

Cheers.

Well on my side, banning posters who helped build this site, isn't the solution - my hope is they get the picture after this, take the wake up call finally and stop their GM bullshit.

Perhaps one solution would be to ask them to Foe each other as a requirement to returning. In hopes it will prevent the baiting posts.

But also hope they see their fellow posters sticking up for them, and wanting them to be their best selves.

Their back and forth is 100% tongue in cheek. They don't actually dislike each other at all despite some of Blobby's responses.

Don I agree that it gets old fast and it should be curtailed. I see that it's frustrating to try and keep wiping all their nonsense but there must be some sort of adult level solution in there somewhere.

My vote is obviously going to be to solve it in house

I get that, and I don't dislike Mëds either. But sometimes siblings need to be separated for the best of the family.

A PM from a user on the subject at hand and the overall board.

I was given permission to post this but will leave the individuals name out.

Added to the read the room conversation.....

Just wanted to reach out and extend my gratitude for stepping up and attempting to fill Doc’s shoes.

I’ve devolved to mere lurker status over the past half dozen years or so, but I feel, given my 25ish years in this and the previous board, I ought to show my appreciation for this here forum.

While I don’t love the idea of a Blob/Chef less community. I did have them blocked for quite some time.

Keep up the great work, as the topics and discussions have, IMO, been as strong as they’ve been for years. Thanks for your contributions

Disappointed to see this happen but I understand that to move forward and start to attract more posters it needed to be done.

I can say that I totally ignored their back and forth and 80% of RD's posts, but then I 100% ignore all Mëds posts about EP  .
