I thought Reschny struggled against the Czechs, the only reason O’Reilly is there is because of Hunter, see Cooper and Cirelli. Desnoyers resembled a deer caught in the headlights against the Czechs. I would’ve rather have kept O’Brien over Desnoyers. O’Brien is a very smart player and is having a helluva year. Cutting Jackson Smith was a head scratcher, again could be as you say, the NCAA rule with some of the CHL old boys like Hunter. Curious as to why they didn’t even give Lawrence an invite to camp? I would’ve loved to have seen Belchetz up against the Czech’s yesterday just for his size and skating. Felt the Czech’s were much bigger and faster than us. Carbonneau is a pure goal scorer, maybe he should’ve been given the nod but not sure goal scoring is our need right now. Biggest concern is defence and forward depth in the bottom 6. Don’t see Carbonnneau as a bottom 6 type player. Also, what’s the deal with Luchanko? He’s like a career WJC member but doesn’t seem to blow you away.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 12:17 pmI think Reschny has been decent, O'Reilly not terrible. I also liked Vaclav Nestrasil's game yesterday vs Canada. He's a big boy. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdi ... pid=273530
Out of the Q, I might prefer goal a game Justin Carbonneau. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdi ... pid=264854

Misa-Iginla-Marone look like they could handle NHL duty right now.

Also forgot Greentree, he didn’t look great against the Czechs.
Sounds like Hunter is going with the same lineup for todays game
Iginla Misa Martone
McKenna Hage Martin
Desnoyers Beaudoin O’Reilly
Luchanko Reschny Cootes
Greentree
Reid Parekh
Mackenzie Brunicke
Aitcheson Danford
Carels

Yes, no complaints about the first line. They are making shit happen on the regular. Misa looks like your classic centre. The one two punch of him and Celebrini are gonna be a handful once they mature.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:22 pm Misa-Iginla-Marone look like they could handle NHL duty right now.

O'Brien and Smith, I couldn't agree more.
Luchanko seems to have stalled out in his development.

Question, Ethan MacKenzie is undrafted, will he go back in the draft as an overager or is free to sign wherever? I like what I see of this kid.

Do you watch these games blind drunk?
Greentree olayed 2:35.
All the hand wringing about Verhoeff. Who is he beating out on that right side? The offense runs through Parekh. He is shitty defensively though. Made Reid look bad. Brunicke and Danford were solid.

He is an 06 birthday and will be picked late first to mid 2nd. Real good player.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:31 pm Question, Ethan MacKenzie is undrafted, will he go back in the draft as an overager or is free to sign wherever? I like what I see of this kid.

Greentree stinks, get rid of him. Parekh has his warts. He’s good for quite a few brain farts per game. Brunicke struggled against the Czechs at times. Reid is a tire fire.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:33 pmChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 1:23 pm Also forgot Greentree, he didn’t look great against the Czechs.

Brunicke is a shot-blocking demon. Reminds me a little of a certain Topper favourite.

Yeah, he completely Czechs out.
Canada's coverage is spottier than my cell/data plan.
