Yeah, an ultra private person. I tried many times to get more info out of him. He seemed to be around Clark Park around when all the Clark Park legends were around which would put him in that mid 70’s category. I feel bad for how I was with him during my Trump Derangement phase, but I think it cooled off some before he stopped communicating here. He never mentioned his cancer to me but looking back now I recall a heart felt response from him when I was mentioning my wife’s cancer like he knew from experience. Im sure as hell as fuck gonna miss the guy, if this is in fact true, it’s super depressing. He was a legend, a one of a kind in this funny little off the beaten path universe we’ve created for ourselves here. It’s been a great community going on 25 years from me, I feel like I loss a near and dear friend.

I’d say that’s how we all feel right now Chef.

Last September I was in a local hospital for some severe back pain, they took my blood work and a few hours later I was admitted to VGH. I had Leukemia and was quickly given a lot of drugs to manage my out of control body. Unbeknown to me my Hematologist told my wife to expect the worse, just found this out a few weeks ago. I know the first weeks was significant and I just could not get my cancer into remission. I had so many lumbar punctures and finally in November/December I was able to put my cancer into remission. During my initial stay at VGH i had several infections, bell's palsy, kidneys almost failed and a host of other things. The doctors started to call me their special patient because I had so many set backs.

In December prior to my bone marrow transplant my doctor told me I had a 50% chance of it being successful. This didn't impact me, ok it did a little. I have to admit that when you go through this you do look at your life. I wrote out a document for my wife on everything she had to do. I thought that I would have time to manage my virtual world such as places like this with closing my account (if I could) before anything bad happened. Stayed positive through out and today I am 275 days post transplant. I am not out of the water yet, it takes 1 to 2 years post transplant to feel better and now I am constantly watching for Graf vs Host Disease where the bone marrow transplant rejects my body and I have to do it over again.

Reading about Doc and potentially what may have happened to him has hit me hard. I tried not to dwell on the worse on what could happen to me and I do not read any of the negative things or google my success rate etc. Modern medicine is constantly improving and every day/week/month I have not gone backwards gives me hope.

I said that I want to see the Canucks win the cup before I move on so the SOB better take care of that soon.

As an aside with respect to Reefer and CC legacy.

Perhaps the only user in the history of either CC locale with 2 nicks that everyone took incorrectly when first seeing them.

Reefer referencing himself as a fish tank aficionado handle was waaay far out there lol

Who comes up with that???

Reefer bowger... I'm glad you whipped it into remission my friend. It must have been a life changing horror to go through and I'm qxed how resilient you have proven to be through all that hell. Well done man!

This little online community we exist in is not very common in scale or longevity me thinks...we've lost a disproportionate number of core members in not that long. Weird.

Blobby, take care of yourself man. That sounds like a living fucking hell stuck in a hallway for a week. What the hell is going on out there??? I remember my grandfather died in that place. I hate Kelowna hospital
