If true, that's a nut-punch. Known him on this forum since the old CC days. You could always count on Doc for relevant, witty and humorous input. Never suffered fools but can't remember him ever being a bully.

I think it's safe to say we're all getting into that stage of life where folks in our social/cultural sphere start dropping off. For never having met any of you in-person, you're all there in that sphere, and I wager it's the same for a number of us. Who of us knew we'd all be here when we were flinging poo in the 90's?

Hope he comes back. If not, I'll raise a glass to him.

On a related note, can the club win a fucking Cup before we all drop off here????

As I've seen mentioned elsewhere, new blood is needed.

Condolences to Doc's family..

That guy could twist a convo by cutting and pasting like I have never seen..

The Canucks world got a bit smaller.

Doc has always been relentlessly optimistic about the Canucks' chances, so I will honour that optimism by pointing out -- without knowing any of the specifics of his health challenges -- that there are medical statuses that could last a couple of months, and would preclude posting or replying to messages, but from which a person could yet recover.

Do the mods know which obituary sections to check ?

Sadly, he gave us a grim prognosis earlier this year around April. As he was a mostly private person, we don't know his 'real' name, and it's unlikely the obit is under Doc or Stranglelove - but we've checked the area's posting. :/

I found one that "could be" he.

Shared it with rats.

We're still on the fence about it.

I continue to search.

Tried my best to get his name a few years ago… gave him all my info first hoping for reciprocity…. To no avail

I even talked somewhere on the board about hoping everyone has a deadman’s switch in effect… because it’s not right for everyone to be left guessing…
I am he as you are he as you are me

If there is a post about how to set that up, please direct me to it.

There’s nothing quite that elaborate here. Sorry, what I’m saying is have a backup ready to advise: friend- family member something like that…

We know he worked in the field of psychology/psychiatry (you tell me the difference lol), he lived in East Abby, grew up in East Van probably grad 80- 85ish.

You might be able to cross reference obits with grad classes for whatever school is close to Clark Park... Chef? Any ideas what school?

I'd say he was older than that.

Could be. I'm basing my assumption on a conversation years ago where he dated himself to around then but I can't recall the specifics.

I didn't know the Doc as much as many here - but he certainly was the lifeblood of this place, and the previous at certain times.

Though, I think it would only be fitting to also remember all the socks he played during his time - you guys know him best, lets get that list out :)
