Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Pettersson should be the easier of the 2 to move since he has no trade protection. His salary will be an issue but that can be dealt with by finding a 3rd team to eat some. Pettersson should return a centre and top 4 Dman and a pick. Bryam and Dobson are a problem in that they will both need new contracts but that might be the risk we have to consider.
What will always piss me off is how the Canucks failed to deal with this at the start. JT Miller didn’t just wake up one day and decide to be an asshole. There were similar rumblings that he didn’t see eye to eye with Bo. Rumours of factions on the team. The Bo side and the JT side. The team treated Bo like shit obviously hitching their wagon to JT. At the time I think most were in agreement but then none of us knew of the locker room issues. This should have been dealt with back then. The return for JT would have been in the same ballpark, if not better, than the return for BO.
This was management epic fail. If they coveted Pettersson then they should have been able to predict these problems. Having said all of that, JT was a huge reason why we did so well last year. He is a heart and sole player. I can believe now that the Canucks were close to trading Pettersson last year to Carolina, it wasn’t just idle threats to get him to sign.
It is incredibly frustrating that 2 highly paid athletes cannot park the bs and play through it.
Columbus needs a Johnny hockey replacement but they are already down a centre with money hands being hurt. But maybe there is a way to make it work, if we can find someone to retain cap.

Hindsight is 20-20. I believe management hoped to rein Miller in with Tocchet mentorship, while hoping that his aggression and passion would rub off on Pettersson. Last season gave them confidence that they'd gone past it all. They were wrong; it was a mirage; and here we are. If it is a fail, and we'll see what comes of the results of the transaction to come before rendering final judgement, then it was a roll that went snake-eyes.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 6:01 pm Pettersson should be the easier of the 2 to move since he has no trade protection. The other thing to consider is who do the players want gone more? If chemistry is key, and the player left standing will signal management's verdict on who they're riding and whose team this is, if not Quinn's. Do they unwittingly do so by chasing the highest return regardless of the feelings of the room? How will the room react to that decision? Would it surprise folks if management consulted the players to have them choose who goes, all other things being equal. BTW, where is Quinn in this mess??? Epic player, a responsible, dedicated athlete committed to his craft, but I'm wondering where is his leadership in this saga? How could he have avoided this by virtue of his ability to lead the room?
Management's choice of who gets traded out will indicate their vision moving forward. Hopefully Quinn remains convinced.

Keith Yandle on Chiclets the other day said Miller was a great teammate with little to no drama around him, was a beast to play with and also insisted he had heard nothing to suggest that had changed since he last played with him.
A guy, with 1100 games played in the league, recently retired with more old school and current connections than any media member or anyone here.
I'll take his word over the scuttlebutt tripe that Miller is some sort of cancer.
Maybe Bo and EP are/were the fucking problem.

I keep thinking of "The Last Dance" and how much Jordan demanded of his teammates. Yeah, he was an asshole too. I'm on the trade Petey bandwagon as of today. I don't like it due to Miller's age and the fact that Petey should be better than this, but it is what it is.

Jordan.
6 rings.
Teammates who won with him.
Rings they never would have had and bigger bank accounts.
Suck it the fuck up buttercup.
In the real world you'd get chewed up and spit out.

Lol they won't need to retain on Pettersson. I see the rubber pants brigade is running around. Get a hose and some bleach!
Rutherford is brilliant putting a spotlight on these two prima donna babies. So now you shift blame from coaches and management to the t plaers acting like infants. It also gives management a bit of breathing room if the return is less than what the piss posse thinks is reasonable.
This is good management. He isn't the guy who wan out of time.
Rutherford is managing the team
He is manipulating the media mongoloids
He is giving out extra paint chips to a large part of the fan base
He is appeasing the retarded owner
Not sure what more people want
Trade both these assholes. The two of them sabotaged a pretty good hockey team after a decade of darkness.
Beat it.

Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
So I asked my AI to make a trade proposal between the Sabres and the Canucks and got this response...
If nothing else, in my AI's deal and with my substitution the Canucks become a much bigger team to play against...
And all of a sudden the Canucks blueline becomes a strength when you consider Quinn and Hronek and Samuelsson along with Willander and D-EP assuming they continue to develope along the path they are on now...
Or maybe my AI's proposal with the Black Hawks is more attractive?
Take care...
I'm not a Cozens fan, haven't been since watching him last year, but in trying to make my AI's proposal work I'd propose substituting Byram with Mattias Samuelsson and adding another pick from Buffalo....Here's a trade proposal involving the Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks:
Buffalo Sabres send:
Dylan Cozens (center)
Bowen Byram (defenseman)
Future second-round pick
Vancouver Canucks send:
Elias Pettersson (center)
This trade would provide the Canucks with two young, talented players, addressing their needs in both the forward and defense positions. Meanwhile, the Sabres would acquire a star center in Pettersson, potentially transforming their team dynamics.

Alright, here's a trade proposal involving the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks:
Chicago Blackhawks send:
Kevin Korchinski (defenseman)
Lukas Reichel (forward)
First-round pick in 2026
Vancouver Canucks send:
Elias Pettersson (center)
This trade would give the Blackhawks a star player in Pettersson to bolster their offensive line alongside budding star Connor Bedard. For the Canucks, it would mean acquiring a top-tier defensive prospect in Korchinski, a young and promising forward in Reichel, and a valuable first-round pick to help further their rebuild.
What do you think? Would this be a fair deal for both teams?
Take care...

Maybe the new DeepSeek AI can do better?

riksters AI has been circumnavigating CC.
Trade 1 do it now so Cozens and Byram have a chance to play tomorrow.

Deepseek AI reminds me of Canucks management.
Ask ChatGTP about Mao, Tiananmen Square, or Xi and you get a nice critical summary.
I asked Deepseek AI today about them today and I got Sergeant Schultz - I Know NOTHINK!
