It's a funk. A long, horrible funk but a funk nonetheless. What we see is a guy who can't take a pass, can't find the puck for a one timer, can't close down a fly.
I have heard more than one commentary about how this deep of a funk is unprecedented given the players success to this point and his age.

He's starting his 7th NHL season and has had two PPG seasons.
He's 25 (less than 2 weeks from his 26th birthday), the kid argument no longer holds water.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
The past 2 have been PPG years, the previous 3 were a hockey widow beaver hair below that. 416 points in 415 games is a proven top line scorer in my books.
He will return to form. He's not going to end with 10g/40pts
