He isn't media but he used to be on a lot of in game ads during Canucks games. The Dude's workout partner and wingman in the DTES is in a lot of hot water. Stuart Zukerman.

I remember having an english teacher in high school that played the white album in class, when it first came out. It's amazing that someone your age liked that album - it's a testament to how good the album was.

Fat Frank Seravalli actually posted this and thought it would be okay somehow. The entire hockey fanbase on twitter is currently hounding him and it's pretty amusing. What a shithead.

Should rename them from Sportsnet 'insiders' to 'lapdogs.'
Think the Oil will do well in the regular season but will have a 'fall from grace' in the playoffs, similar to the Canucks in 2012. A lot went right for them last year in the playoffs and they stayed relatively healthy, not sure they will have that luck again this time.

The coilers and their gap toothed fanbase are counting on Blobby's favorite lovernuts Troy Stretcher to be an impact defender. They're calling him a "wily 2way puck transporting defender"theman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:02 am Should rename them from Sportsnet 'insiders' to 'lapdogs.'

I really don't get the Oiler bandwagon. They should be a contender, don't get me wrong. And they could have won last year.
(and they could have been bounced in round 2, 3 or out in 4 in the finals).
But is this team really better than last year's team? I don't see it. That defense is suspect. The goaltending is no sure thing. And the forward group added a guy that's as likely to be a poison pill as a difference maker (Skinner), and a guy on the wrong side of 30 coming off a back surgery. (I like Arvidsson as a player and like the signing for the Oilers, but there's a risk here). The bottom 6 remains underwhelming, and there's not a lot "more" that can be squeezed from the returning top 6.
I can see them winning. I could see them winning the past few years on opening night. Their top end is that good, and Bouchard's development gives the team another offensive option it lacked 2 years ago. Their coaching is good. But its far from obvious to me that they should be considered the favorites. Dallas, the Rangers, the Panthers all seem to have more boxes checked than the Oilers (and they also have high end talent, better defense, and better goaltenders). I'd put the Oilers in a tier 2 group, which would also contain the Canucks, the Predators, and the Devils. Tier 3 would be those teams that have the talent and experience for another run but aren't what they once were but as long as they make the playoffs might be great for 2 months (Lightning, Avalanche, Vegas) or who are well constructed and have consistent regular season success (Carolina, Boston). I'm sure there will be a team or two that beats all reasonable preseason expectations and another team that should be in this group that I am forgetting, but this is how I see things going into the season.

Gotta agree with U-Dub - but I do enjoy that there is added pressure on them. McScreamy should be having a few more meltdowns this year.

Re: Media (AKA Idiots) Rebooted
Good points, they do have a very high powered offence and I wouldn't be surprised if they win the division but their D is thin and the G is still a question mark. With the short offseason and how much of a grind the season is, I can see them falling down at the finish line and having a disappointing playoffs.UWSaint wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 10:31 amI really don't get the Oiler bandwagon. Also, they will be right up against the cap when Kane returns. That should make it hard for them to add the D they will need to add for a playoff push.

Re: Media (AKA Idiots) Rebooted
The media bandwagon is in full effect here but the Oilers are not a complete team by any means. I would pick the Panthers to knock them off again as long as Bobrovsky holds up should they rematch in the finals. I'm looking forward to us getting another crack at them with Demko healthy, I would like are chances in that matchup.UWSaint wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 10:31 amI really don't get the Oiler bandwagon. Too early, check back in 20 games.
I'm surprised how many have the leaves top 5, their goaltending looks better, but I don't see that much of a improvement overall.
