Fans are already petitioning for Stan's removal.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Stan should probably remove himself from the video coach hiring process. Bow out, man.

I love it. The guy built a team that won 3 cups in 6 years and Oilers fans, who believe their team is on the cusp of greatness, are pissing in their pants over his past mishandling or a civil/social issue for which he has “done his time”.

I hope they raise such a stink that he leaves and the team craters. If anyone is going to come into Edmonton and sort the pieces of that organization out with some augmenting finishing touches it is Bowman.

He will make the tough decisions that may not be popular at first in order to create a better balance for the team. He will also control the dressing room.

Meh. As soon as Stand Blowman makes a couple of moves that the fanbase approves of and the team continues to win, all these critics will quietly forget their "morality".

Sounds like Stan the Man is going to lock up Draisaitl to around $13x8. He's worth it, but christ, they will be top heavy. Getting even closer to the leaves model all the time. The Coil keeps getting tighter.

McDavid won't make less than $16M after that contract.....unless he pulls a Crosby, which hasn't seemed like his way of doing things.

Looks like the Flames have dipped into the Vancouver radio market again for their new pbp guy replacing ex Canucks radio announcer Rick Ball:

The Calgary Flames have announced Jon Abbott as their new play-by-play announcer on Sportsnet. Abbott will replace Rick Ball, who recently joined the Chicago Blackhawks. Abbott will join a seasoned broadcast team that includes analysts Kelly Hrudey and Greg Millen with host Ryan Leslie as the Flames gear up for the 2024-2025 NHL season.

Is he any good?

Also, Drysaddle's demand to get a deal done by the end of August looks like it might not come to fruition. Looks like there is still a big gap between what the Oilers are offering and what Drysaddle is demanding. :mex:

Abbott is vanilla at best. What happened to Rick Ball? He’s not bad.
