Like others are saying I expect a tougher game. The oilers are embarrassed and they might fall apart over it but I think it's more likely they come guns ablazin. The Canucks better be ready from puck drop!
They will certainly come out flying. Don't take a stupid penalty and I think we will be OK. 5-on-5 we were the better team throughout game 1. They got early momentum on a too-many-men call in the first minute and, as we saw, their PP is lethal.
I agree, take the game to Draisaitl and McDavid. Especially when Kane is on the ice, he will retaliate. Don't physically engage Kane, just chirp the shit out of him and force him to be the aggressor. He's the type of player that sometimes you just want to leave alone and let him be his own undoing. Not to say that he's remotely in the class of Iginla, but when teams targeted Iggy he got mad, and then got even on the scoreboard. Power forward thing I think.
It's vital that the Canucks PP starts clicking. I would take Pettersson off of the first unit for a bit, remove him as a go-to option and the other guys will make things happen. The puck dies on his stick these days, he forces passes, he hesitates, but the PP is setup to get the puck to him for a one-timer, just ditch that plan.
And honestly, just win. FFS.
