I love that it’s keeping the final WC spot interesting. Blues 3 points back with 6 available.
The Knights control their own fate, and 2 of their remaining 4 games are against Anaheim and Chicago, so definitely the easier finish compared to the Blues, but I’d love to see them miss.![]()

It’s crazy being aghast ain’t it!?!?Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 2:41 pm I'm rooting for the captain to get 9pts in the final 3 games to hit the century mark. I would be aghast if that happened.

He does not like the media
Sounds like the Calgary game is his. I wonder if he gets the last two games or just the Calgary game. It sure is nice to have him back.

The only HW the Canucks need

I also enjoyed sending Pronger and Tkachuk home in 2003.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 4:19 pmHa! Exackary. Hanifin signs for $7.35M AAV. I think that's a pretty fair comparable to FH17. Plus, Hronek has one more season of RFA, so it should lower his contract a little.
Re: Temporary hockey discussion thread
I agree that Hanafin is a pretty comparable player to Hronek. But note Hanafin's contract has 6 years of no trade, and is modified no trade after. NTC's come at a price (i.e., he's leaving something on the table to get the NTC).Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 6:42 pm Hanifin signs for $7.35M AAV. A 2024 signing of 26 year old Hronek @ 8/7.35M is a far better deal than a 2019 deal for 29 yo Tyler Myers @ 5/6M. From a percentage of the cap perspective, it will likely be less hit as a percentage of max cap over the course of the contract. From a quality perspective, Hronek comes in as a #2/#3 caliber whereas Myers came in as "2d pairing" (and was 4/5 for a time in Winnipeg), and Hronek would play more years on the contract in the prime of his career, which is just now starting.
If Canucks could sign Hronek for Hanafin money, it would be a job well done by Allvin. But I expect it will be something closer to $8-8.5M AAV.

Bettman's league eh? Van signed Luongo to a perfectly legal contract at the time... and got punished because it skirted the "spirit" of the rule... and now Vegas is burning the whole system down, and pissin' on it - and Bettman doesn't do a damn thing.
