Off season moves will be a wash this season, two to three years down the road Vancouver will be laughing at Calgary.
Going into this season with it's shortened schedule and inter division play, depth will be critical. There will be a playoff grudge match mentality to teams playing each other as often as they do. That will increase injuries with little recovery time in schedule.
Getting off the blocks fast and creating space in the standings will be key because as injuries mount a fall from grace could be fatal.
Say game 20, your #1 goaltender suffers a groin injury and forced to miss 10-12 games or three of your top nine forwards are out for 6+ games or two of your top 4 defenders suffer foot/ankle injuries.
Weathering storms will be key.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Canucks announce Jason King as an Assistant Coach and Chris Higgins as Skills and Development Coach.
A couple who cares kinda moves, but both guys are former Nucks. Nice to see that Higgy was able to bury the hatchet and work here now as JB soured on him towards the end of his career. King had a short cup of coffee here, but seems like a smart guy who can help with the technical and analytical side of the game.
I know Bieksa is prob not interested in coaching right now, as he has a young family and he seems to enjoy working in the media right now, but he's one guy I wouldn't mind seeing JB try to recruit. I think he has alot of characteristics going for him to become a really good bench boss.
I love the schedule, I'd never imagined seeing such an easy travel schedule for a west coast team.
Don’t mind it as a fan..... but as a player I imagine it’ll be tough
Thats why players get paid the big bucks.
I don’t care about how hard it is or will be I know they get big bucks ..... it’s the injuries that reduce the quality of the only team I give a damn about....is what I’m saying and hopefully the other teams suffer similar or worse.
I am he as you are he as you are me
And we are all together….

I think I see your point, with the number of 3-in-4-nights, but maybe I'm just a baby of a traveler, but I think eliminating all travel in those 3 in4 stretches is a huge boon for the Canucks.
Maybe I'm inured by all the times they've gone like Ny-Columbus-Edmonton-Vancouver-Calgary-Vancouver and called that a 3 game roadie

This is actually a great experiment for us. We have chatted for years how we would like to see the Canucks travel schedule reduced with more back to backs with the same team, in the same town... and now we are getting our wish. It will be interesting to see how it turns out, injury wise.
It’s also nice to see other teams travelling more than us. I can’t remember if that’s ever happened before either..
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.
