I love what Markstrom has brought to this team but Benning needs t decide who his goals of the future is. And if he has. I think he has, then he needs to let Markstrom walk. I am told the biggest holdup is trade protection.
The only HW the Canucks need

They had a winger. His name was Burrows. Meshed amazingly with the Sedins for years. Surprised you guys forgot about himESQ wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:53 amNow now now, I actually think that was a good take by the Mickster - Loui is the last vestige of the decade-plus of searching for the elusive Winger For The Twins. Crazy to think of how many UFA wingers were signed with the idea of taking that spot over the years.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:22 amis that Gomerese again??Micky wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:16 amThe Sedin era isn't really over till Louis is off the Canucks payroll.Tciso wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:37 amIf he lights it up ever again, he'd be Loui "Stranger Things", cuz he'd need to be posessed.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:46 pm Loui Little Things. What do the Twins have to do with Louise's contract?? That's like saying the Sedins era isn't over until Luongo's cap penalty comes off the books, or until The stick boy retires.
Go eat some more rainbow crayons.
After Alex left, the Twins were already on the decline, and it didn’t really matter who they played with.
But back to the comment, it’s still like saying the era ends when the goalie signed (to end the decade plus of searching for the elusive goalie to end the Goalie Graveyard) is the same thing. Crazy to think how many UFA goalies were signed with the idea of being a long term starter for us.
It’s like saying Edler is the last vestige of the decade-plus of searching for the elusive #1 Defenceman for the defensive corps. Crazy to think how many players were rooted through that spot with the idea of taking over that spot for years...
In a team sport, the era ends when the individual (in this case, twins) leave the team, otherwise there will always be overlap of players.
Now, in reality, if we are naming eras, we are still in the ‘haven’t won a cup’ era. That changes when we win. Until then, it’s the same pile of shit, just sometimes more entertaining than others.

That’s the wrong pony your riding again there, son!
I separated from her after 17 years because she had a drug abuse problem. She was making questionable life decisions around my young children, who I didn’t want exposed to that kind of life. Soon after, she died of complications from an overdose. Technically, I guess I am a widower as we didn’t finish the paperwork before she died.
Tragic waste.
Kinda like 99% of your posts.
But I digress... back to those rainbow crayons your munching....

To me the 2011 era ends when Edler is gone, but that is just me.

Yeeeesss, and while Burrows was there the Canucks brought in Loui, Samuelsson, Vrbata, traded for Booth and Kassian. Prior to Burrows joining the Twins, there was Pyatt, Demitra, Bulis, Cowan, going all the way back to ol' Anson Carter.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:20 pm

It doesn't really mean anything, but I agree that there's a straight line from Anson Carter to Loui "But They Dominated On Team Sweden!" Eriksson. Loui's role in coming to this team was to play with the Sedins. As we saw in their final year (well, their final week at least), the Sedins *could have* played another year or two, which would have dovetailed nicely with the Loui contract coming to an end, but as with so many other experiments on the Sedins' wing, Eriksson never worked.
That is true, I think the Goalie Graveyard era ended with the Luongo trade. Its been remarkably steady ever since, other than the Eddie Lack year. But back to the comment, it’s still like saying the era ends when the goalie signed (to end the decade plus of searching for the elusive goalie to end the Goalie Graveyard) is the same thing. Crazy to think how many UFA goalies were signed with the idea of being a long term starter for us.
I agree, its also amazing how nobody has overtaken Edler for that title of "#1 D" until Quinn finally bumped him off the top PP. Edler has had remarkable staying power, and I personally think he's played some of his best hockey as a Canuck in the past 2 seasons. It’s like saying Edler is the last vestige of the decade-plus of searching for the elusive #1 Defenceman for the defensive corps. Crazy to think how many players were rooted through that spot with the idea of taking over that spot for years..
Anyway, its an interesting discussion, and I find this much more stimulating than reading the name-calling and piling-on of Micky.

Marc Bergevin signs Josh Anderson to a monster 7 year deal @$5.5M AAV. lol
Drance:
"Since September 15th the Habs have signed 3 one-way contracts (Anderson, Petry, Edmundson) taking on $77.5 million in total one-way salary liability.
MNW: $51.7M
VGK: $36M
Other 28 teams: $78.305M"

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
