Whether they're moronically disliking someone for the colour of their skin or moronically unable to reason/debate.
We've all got to deal with morons (hi Reef!).
And obviously this is not mere dislike. This is overt, prejudicial behaviour, ranging from annoying (morons being morons), to prejudicial (morons not respecting your abilities because of your skin colour), to hatred (morons calling you a nigger), to savage (morons like Derek Chauvin, Daniel Pantaleo, and Steve Downie).
People shouldn't have to "man up" just to have their basic human rights. Or don't you believe in that?
There are also non-racist morons who are "prejudiced/hateful/savage" in various ways.
If you're out to cure moronism in our lifetime, I bid you good luck and good day sir...

Ah, so we've gone from "Man up!", meaning it's an individual problem, not a societal problem ... to okay, it's a problem but we'll never solve it completely, so why bother. Always pushing the responsibility away.Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:28 pm If you're out to cure moronism in our lifetime, I bid you good luck and good day sir...
The BLM movement is not about curing the world of moronism/racists. There will always be racists somewhere. But at current levels it is still a systemic and oppressive issue. For society to change for the better it needs everyone to make racism an unacceptable behaviour. That includes yourself.
But I figure you know that already. Most white people don't want to deal with it and just would rather it just go away (kind of like how Americans are dealing with covid right now).

You’ve admitted racism will always be with us (cuz morons)
… yet you seem to be trying to recruit me to your misguided movement.
I haven’t felt like this since the last time the JoHos showed up at my door.
Well don’t try to force your agenda on me bucko!
All this seething hatred I’m seeing…
Hate and rage will accomplish nothing.
“Give us what we want or we will burn it down!”
Please.
“Fuck the police!”
Really?
"Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon!"
Fuck off.
Not gonna accomplish anything by confronting the police in the street that way.
These MORONS have a better chance of sparking a race war than anything else.
And sometimes I think that’s exactly what these morons want.
Go knock on someone else’s door.
I’ll decide what “my responsibility” is, thanks.

Interesting how you only see hate and rage from the left. You always play down the hate and rage from the right. Either condemn all of it or none of it.

Well, there's a lot of comments there Doc, but I think it boils down to (1) BLM protesters are engaging in hateful, violent, self-defeating behaviour, and (2), I'm trying to recruit you to my movement/agenda.Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 3:27 pm No. The man-up thing was me telling you to stop whining.

Well firstly I don't condone any rioting, hateful attitudes, or illegal behaviour. I support what the BLM movement stands for, which is simply that that black lives matter. It's similar to you being a Christian, but not agreeing with "religion". There's always going to be people associated with a movement or faith doing questionable things. It doesn't mean the movement or faith is wrong.
And secondly, isn't "recruiting you to my movement/agenda" just another way of saying we are having a debate? Isn't that what debating is, trying to convince (i.e. recruit) the other person to your view (i.e. movement / agenda)? So are you saying you don't want to debate this? I don't think so. I think you are someone governed by logic.
I think the real issue is that this is not just a debate, it's a debate about morality. Do black people deserve the right to not have to suffer racists/racism? And do we, individually, bear a responsibility to society to support black people in their fight for this right? I asked the first question in an earlier post, but you didn't answer. How about the second?

Nope, just the opposite: You’re pushing religion.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:25 pm Well, there's a lot of comments there Doc, but I think it boils down to (1) BLM protesters are engaging in hateful, violent, self-defeating behaviour, and (2), I'm trying to recruit you to my movement/agenda.

My Christianity is a spiritual thing, a relationship with the Creator/Redeemer/Comforter.
Nope, it’s the leaders of BLM who are promoting anger, hatred, violence, and destruction.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:25 pm There's always going to be people associated with a movement or faith doing questionable things. It doesn't mean the movement or faith is wrong.
You really should join another religion, lest folks mistake you for one of the morons.
In a perfect world no one would ever have racism directed at them.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:25 pm And secondly, isn't "recruiting you to my movement/agenda" just another way of saying we are having a debate? In this world, everyone has racism directed at them… at some point.
But the leaders of your movement are as racist as those of whom they point the finger.
And as I mentioned, their strategy is moronic.
Therefore your movement never had a prayer.
BLM is a shitshow, a joke, and it looks like the morons coming after Christianity next:

I’m hoping at some point in the future
… while you’re busy burning a pile of bibles or something…
You have an epiphany that leads to repentance and salvation.
Until then, I’ll pray for you.
Discussion over.
