But I also admit to never having seen Dobson play

Well there are thousands of Isles fans who watch Dobson and disagree with you, but hey, they're not the Great Doyle.

Prey tell what do they say about him?

Funny I’ve read the Islanders board and they seem to love the kid. The burden of proof is on yourself to defend your dumb comment here.

Doyle you can’t be serious in thinking a straight up trade of Boeser for Dobson is a fair trade for us? C’mon Bro. Calder Trophy Finalist. All Star Game In rookie year etc. No fat chance it’s a fair trade for Vancouver.

I’m all good revisiting this in a couple years. Mackinnon, Makar, Thomas, Byram.... something tells me I’ll be 5/5 with a couple bombs.

So you’re 100% confident Dobson will be of equal value or better than the asset of Boeser?

Yes. And if I was only 80 % sure it’s worth the gamble. Wasn’t it you saying Buffalo won the ROR deal? You also said Colorado should have gotten more for Duchene I think...

His game has slid since those early days. Hes off the top line and struggled to net 16 goals. His value is low

I guess the question is, would the other team be getting the rookie Boeser or the guy who appears to have levelled off, struggles to stay healthy, and seems to have had a nagging wrist issue affect his shot. I'd prefer not to trade him, let him get his wrist in order so he can score 40 or so, but if they sign Toffoli moving a RW is a logical move.

So comparing the risks of Boesers decline vs Dobsons ascent i go with the promising young defenseman

Do you think the Islanders do it? Potentially an interesting deal to see come together and track over the years and would fill a massive hole in the Canucks org.

I dont think that deal will happen no...we're just throwing out hypothetical scenarios based on the nux and the isles needs.

They also have another young righty gem in Bode Wilde. A Virtanen for Wilde would work if the boeser move is too rich.

They have Pulock looking for bank this summer, Pelech, Toewes and Mayfield already in the system. Theyre fat with d in all stages of development. They are an ideal trading partner for van.
