“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Re: Past Canuck Players
Dude was kidding Mick, he knows Murzyn was a human punching bag!
But he was also the nastiest meanest cheepshot Dmen ever.
I mean, he took GREAT pleasure in hospitalizing the opposition.
So much so, that he didn't at all mind eating some punches in exchange for dat dere.
This was in the day when hurting people was considered a skillset.
Come to think of it... I think that was Dana's... only... skillset.
THE GUY WAS A FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!

I loved Murzyn! The dude was a horrible fighter but wasn’t afraid of shit and went to bat for his teammates, always. That’s what you want.

Big Dana was also proof positive that a ground sloth could adapt to an NHL environment, even thrive in it.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 4:46 pm I loved Murzyn! The dude was a horrible fighter but wasn’t afraid of shit and went to bat for his teammates, always. That’s what you want.

The Gumper kicking one out in an exhibition game vs the parent NY Rangers club:
Johnny Bower holding it down in the Canucks net:
Is that a puck in the corner of the net behind George Gardner as he gets ready for game action?

I remember watching one of the last goals he ever scored. Murzyn pinched in. Damn near to the top of the circle. He loaded up a howitzer, and you could see the fear in his face. He either had to score, or shoot it out of play. Bugger scored, and still barely made it back to the bench in time for the center ice face off. He re-defined slow.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 7:31 pmBig Dana was also proof positive that a ground sloth could adapt to an NHL environment, even thrive in it.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 4:46 pm I loved Murzyn! Murzyn was the best partner for Lumme.

Re: Past Canuck Players
Just want to point out that anyone who does not include Lumme and Luongo - by far the best goalie the Canucks have ever had - gets an F.
Just saying.
