I’d rather see them make the playoffs. Be a shame to see them fold like a cheap tent down the stretch. If they do miss, it would be nice to get some lotto luck and get a top 3 pick.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 8:12 amThat will bring joyle to DoyleHockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 11:25 am Nothing is guaranteed yet. Yeah it would be nice to see Jimbro add some high-end defense prospects this draftChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 8:29 amWell, if Demko doesn’t step it up sooner than later, ya might get yer wishDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 8:19 amI’d rather see them make the playoffs. Re: 2020 NHL Draft
This is going to be interesting if they don’t resume playing, what will happen to the Canucks pick.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Apparently the Canucks made the playoffs by default of where the season ended. So this I assume makes the Devils the decider of the pick
The biggest benefactor of all of this is Ottawa. Holy fuck will they hit gold with where their two picks are

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
I’m not sure, because if there’s no hockey until October, the Canucks didn’t actually play any playoff games, so they should retain the pick. I guess there are several scenarios that could play out.

The Devils may bitch about this, as far as I know, by where the season ended the Canucks were in a playoff positionDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 9:10 am I’m not sure, because if there’s no hockey until October, the Canucks didn’t actually play any playoff games, so they should retain the pick. Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Agreed. Without actually playing any playoff games yet technically just barely "qualifying"....who gets the prize?Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 9:02 am This is going to be interesting if they don’t resume playing, what will happen to the Canucks pick.
This will be the most interesting story line if they dont resume the season

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
To me it’s simple, they were technically in the playoffs when the season ended therefore putting the ball in the Devils court. Although I can see the Canucks having an argument as wellThe Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 9:46 amAgreed. Re: 2020 NHL Draft
It cannot be ranked as it stands because not all teams played the same amount of games.
Unless everyone is good with a computer simulation of how it would have finished.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Maybe it’s as simple as all the Wild card teams in and around there do a separate lottery roll? Weighted to those in the best position Not or To make the playoffs?
