Geez SKYO, that's essentially 3 rookie defensemen inserted into the lineup. Not too likely. Oh yeah, this is the pipe dreams thread
Edit: Yeah, Trampkin is technically not a rookie but after three years in the KHL he's probably back at square one.

And Rafferty is almost a quarter century years old, not exactly a spring chicken.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:59 amGeez SKYO, that's essentially 3 rookie defensemen inserted into the lineup. Not too likely. Oh yeah, this is the pipe dreams thread![]()

Why it would be nice to see Rafferty and/or Juolevi get a handful of games this season to see what they can possibly do.

He has had issues with commiting to off-season training and it directly reflects in the injuries he keeps acquiring.SKYO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:51 amTo be fair Olli Juolevi has had back (June 2018) and knee (Dec 2018) surgeries to stall his development. Typically it takes two years post op to feel back to 100% for a pro sports player. Still has some soreness in other areas of his body I assume because he's using other muscles to compensate for his recovering bod'The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 10:58 am I dont think we will ever see Juolevi hold down a permanent roster spot on Vancouvers blueline. Not unless he suddenly takes offseason training seriously...(i suppose it could happen...not likely at this stage)
The kid is a weakling
But yeah this offseason will be really beneficial for him to get closer to 100%.

Ah yes, that's another thing that won't be happening this season. No way we're going to have tryouts from the farm when we're firming up our playoff position / division banner. Probably even have Schaller playing D before a callup happens! JK

Tryamkin is not comparable to Big Z. Dude will be a HHOFer and he’s mean and nasty.SKYO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:05 pmAnd Rafferty is almost a quarter century years old, not exactly a spring chicken.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:59 amGeez SKYO, that's essentially 3 rookie defensemen inserted into the lineup. Tryamkin will be turning 26 in the summer, has fully grown into his massive body now, the age when Chara started to come around.
Juolevi turning 22 in May.
True, Sautner probably be the call-up if anything, plus we got Benn waiting to play.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:37 pmAh yes, that's another thing that won't be happening this season. Yeah not comparing to Chara's skills, just the fact he grew into massive frame and played more comfortable at that age 25+.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:45 pm Tryamkin is not comparable to Big Z. Dude will be a HHOFer and he’s mean and nasty.
I guess they are both tall

Not a bad choice.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 3:36 pm Unless it’s cheap.... do not want. I’d look for a bit of depth and an asshole that can play. Either up front or on D. What does Ottawa want for Borowiecki?
