I’ll admit I was surprised about Hilary losing and ford in Ontario and Brexit in the Uk and the surge to populist right parties in Europe. I thought there were more good people in the world.

I used to think liberals and conservatives were similar people with philosophical economic differences but clearly that isn’t so.

Conservatives increasingly appear mean spirited, petty, resentful and spiteful and I guess it’s not that surprising.

If all the people who are dominated by greed, fear and hatred get together and vote for politicians who play to those character flaws then I guess we shouldn’t be surprised anymore.

Conservatives cuts taxes for the wealthy and greedy people see opportunity rather than the increasing poverty and inequality.

Conservatives builds walls and scared people feel safe.

Conservatives plays on old hatreds and gain popularity and increase divisions.

It’s pretty clear. Conservatives are not similar at all, they look like regular people but they are not. Conservatives are the lizard people. The aliens among us. They are TS Eliot’s hollow men.

And trump is the fat leisurely cockroach on the kitchen counter in the middle of the night whose confidence comes from infestation hidden in the walls of society.
