Post by theman »

Word on the street is Demko starts tonight.

Come on guys, a full 60 minutes and no 'too many men' penalties.

Max Sassons has been recalled to the big boys so no JT Miller tonight I would assume.

With Demko returning and their shitty home ice record, I could see the Canucks putting together a better team defense tonight.
I'd like to see a little more effort on carrying the puck out of their zone(by anyone not named Quinn) rather than the usual flip it off the glass and hope for the best.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it

The Vancouver Canucks have decided to make defenceman Erik Brännström a healthy scratch for Tuesday night’s contest against the St. Louis Blues.

I don't think I know what exactly has happened with Demko since what we were told in summer.. but he's not 100% healthy right? They just decided he was going to work around the rare injury he has?

Asking as, the skeptical side of me is concerned there's still room he's never as good as he once was, if indeed this is a situation of not having a 100% healthy Demko.

As far as I know he's 100% healthy and rarin' to go Raile. I haven't heard anything suggesting otherwise.

Of course I do think he's injury prone but that's probably pessimistic.

I remember they dressed 5 once when they had Jovo, Salo, Ohlund, Sopel, and Malik. Probably Allen was dinged up or sick, and they were like, whatever, these guys can each handle it. A few times with that same group they'd dress Brookbank as a 6 D and he wouldn't play but 3 minutes.

I wouldn't recommend it as it would be taxing on our D core and the constant D pairing juggling could be troublesome on our coaching staff. It could make it easy to make a mistake like too many men penalty. Tocc should just play Friedman if he has to.

Friedman is in tonight. Looks like Forbert is back too. So scratching Barnstorm may be more a function of having a lefty/righty combo rather than having a Dman play their off side.
