A top-6 center is a 1st or 2nd line center.Tciso wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 10:43 pmThat seems a weird range. There are 128 centers in the league. Wids says he is number 65 or higher, and implies no better than top 96th out of 128. WTF is upper middle 6? 60 to 76th?Mëds wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 10:27 pmI disagree. He's a an upper-middle-six center. He is not 1st line quality.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 9:29 pm I think the Pettersson rhetoric is way over the top. He is a top six centre. Overpaid for what he is producing but still a top six centre. And we need those. No indication at all that he is a dressing room problem, all made up.
I'm firmly on the side that says you don't trade him unless you get good hockey return.
A middle six center is a 2nd or 3rd line center.
An upper-middle-6 center would be a 2nd line center.
Pettersson is NOT a 1st line center anymore, no way now how can it be argued that he's been a 1C the past 2 seasons and change. Ergo, he cannot be a top-6 center. But he's still better than a 3C. Hence.....
It was tongue-in-cheek. Just inventing another silly criteria.
