Speaking of "reading" I just read an article at Toronto's Sportsnet...

Canucks fans should channel their Maple leaves hate elsewhere
- by Ryan Dixon
Perhaps after Auston Matthews pulls a power move or Mitch Marner dances through the neutral zone like Michael Jackson in the Billie Jean video West Coasters could simultaneously look skyward and say, “Good God, we need to become Toronto.” (paraphrased)
Lmao... not bloody likely!
Do we need to add young offensive forwards going forward in this rebuild – YES.
But I'm happy to “build from the net out” as they say, let’s compare notes in 2-3 years time…
Only two teams—Toronto was one—finished with fewer points than Vancouver last year and the club is tracking similar results with a rickety roster this season.
So Leaves were worse than Canucks last season
… and are presently just 2 points ahead of the injury-riddled Canucks right now
… and yet Canuckers are going to look skyward and say: “Good God, we need to become Toronto”??
That the Maple leaves could be a model for what Vancouver does next is only chuckle-worthy because of the aforementioned—and somewhat baffling—rivalry between the two cities.
The “Maple Leaves Model”?
What is that exactly… trade your 2 best players for dubious returns and win the draft lottery?
Cuuuz that's pretty much how you described it...
Dixon, call us when your precious Leaves make the playoffs (if ever) and we’ll chat further.
BTW Leaves-hatred stems from the way said team is disturbingly coddled by the TO media.
