Ya might of missed it due to the endless run on highlight of Matthews easy tap in that my grandma could have scored, due to the biased Canadian hockey media headquartered in Toronto
It's because Laine is statistically the most one-dimensional player in the entire NHL. Matthews is a 200 ft beast. You build around a centre.

In general, you're sadly biased. You think the Canucks have a great future. If Vancouver had 3 of the 4 top rookies you'd be creaming your pants. But instead you're saying Leaf have no future. How cute.

2 goals for the highlight reel scoring machine Laine last night. 15 on the year now, just hand him the Calder already!

And both on the PP! Will this guy ever score 5 on 5 or on the road?

How long until somebody fly swats Smurf Marner to the boards putting him on IR for the year? Same can be said for Girl Face Nylander.

I hear the Maple leaves are desperate to fix their shite defence. How about Tanev for the leaves first round pick in 2017? Damn, we go so much depth on D, Lou the defense/goalie first GM must be lickin' his chops when I looks at our Dee and Goalee future! You win from the Net out, the Canucks have already solved this.

Sad, delusional fans. You have NOTHING in the future in forwards. Your future goalies look like they can't be close to Freddy Andersen (.932 save % since Nov-1) and your ownership won't tank. You've got no future. And you're running around bragging like you're the leaves, Jets or Oilers. LOL. You need a #1 C to win a cup. You've got nothing. And none of your prospects will be as good as Morgan Rielly who is a stud and was the #1 D-Man on the Gold medal World championships, and #1 D-Man on team N.America at the world cup.

Sad, sad, sad.

Who the hell will ever take that Loui Eriksson contract off your hands? What were they thinking? You're fighting for 30th with no future so you sign an aging forward one concussion from going into a home?

Speaking of "reading" I just read an article at Toronto's Sportsnet...
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/vanc ... -guidance/

Canucks fans should channel their Maple leaves hate elsewhere

- by Ryan Dixon

Perhaps after Auston Matthews pulls a power move or Mitch Marner dances through the neutral zone like Michael Jackson in the Billie Jean video West Coasters could simultaneously look skyward and say, “Good God, we need to become Toronto.” (paraphrased)
Lmao... not bloody likely!

Do we need to add young offensive forwards going forward in this rebuild – YES.

But I'm happy to “build from the net out” as they say, let’s compare notes in 2-3 years time…

Only two teams—Toronto was one—finished with fewer points than Vancouver last year and the club is tracking similar results with a rickety roster this season.
So Leaves were worse than Canucks last season

… and are presently just 2 points ahead of the injury-riddled Canucks right now

… and yet Canuckers are going to look skyward and say: “Good God, we need to become Toronto”??

Image
That the Maple leaves could be a model for what Vancouver does next is only chuckle-worthy because of the aforementioned—and somewhat baffling—rivalry between the two cities.
The “Maple Leaves Model”? :look:

What is that exactly… trade your 2 best players for dubious returns and win the draft lottery?

Cuuuz that's pretty much how you described it...

Dixon, call us when your precious Leaves make the playoffs (if ever) and we’ll chat further.

BTW Leaves-hatred stems from the way said team is disturbingly coddled by the TO media.

Well the good thing is we have one of the youngest defenses in the league and the youngest when Edler is out.

So as they all improve over the next few years, this defense could be top tier, so up with hope, down with tuna dope!
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Don't get me wrong I like some of the Canucks young D and Demko is a good prospect. Other than a Reilley. Toronto has fuck all back on D but I do like their young core up front.

You're usually better than this Tuna, this is weak.

Demko.

Tanev+Hutton played at the World's, Tanev was Reilly's partner FFS, and was the one singled out by McDavid, Gallagher and Stone. If the leaves were smart they'd be calling Benning and asking about Tanev.

And yeah, the Leaf prospects pool is good. That's what happens when you have 4 top-10 picks in 5 years, including a 1st overall.

Wow! You have no idea what you're talking about. The Toronto media is more brutal now than the French media in Montreal.

And the point is, Toronto was worse than Vancouver last year. But they walked away with a franchise centre. You're not winning a cup without one of those despite your "Build from the net out" theory.

Toronto drafts Matthews and Vancouver signs an aging Eriksson. Who's in better shape exactly?

So Nielson and Dermot, who look terrific in the AHL are complete busts already? You did state Marner was going to be a bust so can we trust your expertise?

Maybe it wasn't you. someone predicted Marner was going to bust hard on here.
And Kadri isn't elite, but he's a nice two-way centre who is a pest and would have gotten 6 million per + on the open market this summer with the season he's having.

Was Alexandre Daigle a bust?

(answer: considered by most to be the biggest bust in NHL history)

Alexandre Daigle, age 19, NHL: 47 Games, 16g + 21a = 37 points

Mitch Marner, age 19, NHL: 23 Games, 7g + 12a = 19 points

Too soon for you to declare Marner a non-bust, you are premature as always...
