All the vinyards in the world could burn as far as I'm concerned. I hate wine. May as well just drink turpentine.Per wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2026 11:19 pm Temperatures are rising again and will reach the forties in Spain and France this week, which will make it harder to control the wildfires. The worst fires in France are centered around the city of Bordeaux, which could lead to a sharp uptick in the price for Bordeaux wines. It will take several years for affected vineyards to get back to normal production.
It would be wise to stock up your wine cellars while there is time.

I have not drank alcohol in 30 plus years (lost count and don't exactly recall when but at some point in my mid to late 20's) but completely agree.
Detested wine from day 1.

Ahh, but what's the effect of climate change on turpentine?

Hopefully climate change turns turpentine into beer

I didn't drink for many years, however, these days I do enjoy a beer or two now and then. It's more about living a healthy life style for me.

I love my whiskey and martinis hence the name but also a good cold beer after a round of golf or a good BC white wine at dinner just makes the evening much better. Haven't had a hangover in decades as I limit myself but now adays I get the odd beer or whisky because of my health but I do not miss it.
I have started to dabble in non alcoholic beer as it is really good and probably will do that for the rest of my life.

When your health went south on you I thought the name change came because you were seeing your doctor all the time…
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

The name change was to cover up his prodigious partaking of the leaf.
He tried to pass it off as a love for aquariums. Yeah, likely story Reefer!

Your only choices are 0 joints or 1 joint?

You forgot 3, 4 or even 5
(The number represents the "at a time" value)
If Reef had just smoked 3 I'm sure he would have realized and removed the plastic gold gilded Kleenex box cover from the rear window of his corolla

Heard on the news that thousands of people in BC are being evacuated because of the wildfires.
I hope everyone on this board, and their friends and extended family, are safe.

I've been working on the north side of the largest one in BC where people from several small communities and rural farms/ranches have been evacuated for over two weeks. It has also closed the main transport route to central and northern BC. Some of the guys working for me are on Evacuation Alert.
A few days ago, a couple of new fires started in the more populated and summer resort region of the Okanogan Valley in south central BC (where Blob just bought his retirement home). I hope his couch is safe as he puts the retard in retardant. The Okanogan fires, because of the denser population and speed they spread.
In the Cariboo, much of the are was devastated by pine bark beetle kill several years ago leaving an over abundance of fuel on the ground, compound that with a mild winter and dry summer, all it took was a lightning strike and dry windy days.
Smoke made fighting the fire with air support nearly impossible. Most fighting was done by ground crews establishing fire breaks and then back burning towards the fire as weather permitted.
The Okanogan is known for its hot dry summer climate, why people like to live there. It is BC's wine region. The forested land is dominantly mature with grassy underbrush, lower elevations are near desert environments of sage, cactus, pine, grassland.
Several families I know in Spokane were affected (some lost their homes, or had close family who lost their homes) by recent fire in that city that were started by a mentally unstable arsonist.
