So did I understand RJ when he said none of their UFAs will be offered contracts? I expected that re Forbert but thought they might keep Blueger.
He also said he does not want to start the season with the same roster and would like to execute trades and has a plan for FA.
He sounds like he knows what he is talking about. It is refreshing to not have someone sit there and pontificate and lament about everything that goes wrong. We will see if RJ walks away from the noise and starts complaining about the low ball offers he got for everyone.
It’s 1 am here so when I wake up I look forward to reading how day 1 of the draft went. No draft party for me

1 am where you are? Where are you Wids?
Rumour is also the league has told teams to hold off announcing trades so Bettman can announce them at the podium.

I heard RJ wasn't going to ask anyone to waive NMC unless there was a deal on the table - is that what you saw?

Hughes deal is complete.
Rossi, Zeev, Ohgren and Novotny.
From what I’ve read, the Czech winger seems to have some similar attributes as Ohgren.

I’m thinking they’re drafting Malhotra and the Ruck twins and hiring Willie D as Manny’s assistant coach.
Dang, just missed one of the Ruck twins by 2 picks. Actually, I think hiring a guy like Wilie D to help Manny would be a great move as Manny is green as Head Coach at the NHL lvl. I think getting an Assistant with major NHL experience would be good to complement Manny, kinda like when Bones was helping AV. Other options that would be good would be a guy like Crow or even Boudreau.
I don't mind the Caleb pick. If he can develop to a R.O'Reilly or Barkov, it'll be fuqin awesome!

Good value. We were never going to get more than that for him, and I like that the pick is down the road aways.
Hogs needed the change and a fresh start, and we need the roster spot.

I’m gonna guess a ‘29 3rd is involved

A late third for Hoggy is a really good return. Just dumping that contract is a big win, the pick is gravy.
let's run it back

Swede for Canadian. Good move.
... Has any team ever won the cup with less than 10 Canadian players on it?
[edit].. chat GBT says 8, twice.
