I wonder if he makes 7 figures?

Did they have a budget from ownership to bring in anyone for an interview?

They probably didn't even post it to Indeed.

No they never interviewed anyone else. They had a general list of 4-5 candidates to “discuss” in the event something went sideways with Malhotra. But he was definitely their number one candidate. RJ was pretty clear about that before hand saying he wasn’t going to ignore an internal candidate nor do any type of exhaustive search. He said he planned to sit down with Malhotra and talk about his future. I mean that was pretty clear.
I heard that the main negotiating point was term. Manny didn’t want a 3 year term. He wanted 5. His concern was he would be brought in to do the hard developmental work and then get replaced just as the team was starting to be competitive. So I’m interested in knowing who got their term, Canucks or Manny.

As much as Manny was RJ's guy and one can safely assume that they are aligned on many fronts, I suspect there were some discussions that were had about how they would navigate certain issues or potential problems so that both sides were comfortable they weren't going to repeat some of the mistakes they may have observed of previous regimes.
RJ got his guy. Now it's a matter of seeing if he was right or not. I'm skeptical, but would be happy to seem them vindicated - if only because that would mean the team is trending up again.

As much as I like to joke about the “inbred” nature of this refacing of the front office, I think we are at least seeing guys who have a plan and are executing their plan. The former FG’s (TFFGs?) never seemed to have any kind of plan beyond keeping Hughes happy and running interference for Scooter.
So all joking aside, I am definitely in “wait and see” mode for now.

Yeah - I'm there, too. I'm waiting here... arms crossed and a furrowed brow... yep - really excited. Let's see what moves the team makes in the next month.
