Swiss player Kukan gets 5 plus game for cross checking Stenberg on the chin.

Stenberg seems OK though.

Hope Meier gets suspended for the knee on knee on Sundqvist though. That doesn’t belong in hockey.
The refs missed it completely. No call on the ice, or… 2 minutes for cross checking?!
And neutralized with a minor for roughing for one of the Swedes.

Anyway, Switzerland was the better team and won deservedly.
Sweden just didn’t have a good enough team this year. Only 11 NHLers, and very few stars.
Good that they let some of the kids get a go though. I enjoyed watching Björck and Stenberg with Raymond.
That could be a line for the future.

The refs didn't missed it, they valued it in a "different" way. Don't think Meier gets a suspension afterwards. It's called home ice advantage.
Ps: to lead it ad absurdum, Claude Lemieux was Meier's player agent.

Sundqvist left in a wheelchair because Meier took out his knee.
If that’s not suspension worthy, I don’t know what is.
That could be a career ending injury.

Don’t get me wrong, the referees did not impact the outcome of the game. Switzerland was the better team and deserved to win.
But taking out a guys knee is not OK and should have consequences. I hope he isn’t allowed on the ice against Norway tomorrow.

Anyway, semifinals are Switzerland vs Norway and Canada vs Finland.

I say Canada take the gold.
