Those guys are just imperfect players in a Canadian market. It's Larry Murphy in Toronto all over again.Mëds wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 2:47 pmNurse and Bouchard.....you forgot them. Goaltending probably bails them out a bit, but honestly t$20M for two defenseman that are probably in the bottom half of the league defensively when it comes to the percentage of turnovers and mistakes that have ended up in their own net on the ensuing play.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2026 2:36 pmTwice to the Stanley Cup Final with bad goaltending.
How is that guy the problem?
let's run it back

The graphic literally starts: “Evan Bouchard didn’t deserve the Norris.”
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Torts fined $100,000 and the team forfeits a ‘26 2nd round pick for ducking the media following last nights win

Torts is gonna Torts. Some guys just can't change. That said, I wonder how McCrimmon feels about his parachutist coach costing him a 2nd-round pick - which is not insignificant??
Then again, this is Bettman's NHL. Watch the league backtrack and just make it the last pick in the round - like with Ottawa.
Then they'll bitch when it happens again.

So strange that he did that. They won! Imagine if they had lost that series.
The only HW the Canucks need
Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26
Vegas doesn't draft players.
They buy & trade for players.
They take risks and gamble.
Bill Foley is a MAGA Cowboy takin' chances play to win at all costs MF'er.
Probably laughed his ass off and sent Torts a bottle of Cristal.
And now the league has provided Torts an us against the world rallying point heading into a series as a big 'dog versus the Avs.
Dumb like fox.....

Hadn’t thought of it that way Donny, but now that you mention it, if Vegas manages to upset Colorado, Torts (and his antics) comes off looking like a coaching genius.

5 Conference Finals already in 9 years.

In part yes. They were also gifted a ridiculously competitive advantage with the expansion draft rules when they came in!JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2026 6:01 pmOwnership and Mgmt.Nuckertuzzi wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 6:46 pm 5 Conference Finals already in 9 years.

They completely loaded up on solid players and picks.
They had to change the rules for Seattle it was so bad!
Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26
I think they knew full well what would happen when they made the rules for LV's expansion.
They could have shut things down after the first trade that involved a promise for Vegas NOT to select Player X. They were happy to close the door and retroactively punish the Canucks for the Luongo contract.....
Bettman so badly wanted to be the first Big 4 team in Vegas that they just let the Knights run amok.

Agreed, they were certainly given a competitive advantage in the beginning, but it was their initial management that took advantage of it. A decade later, they are still on top.Aaronp18 wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2026 7:29 pmIn part yes. Many teams aren't able to keep the boat afloat for 10 years. Their ownership and management take big swings, with great calculations, and take advantage of other teams who aren't as well managed. Toronto, Ottawa etc.
They have turned over their roster completely since the initial expansion. And did it very well.
