Silovs gets the call again tonight.

After filling water bottles through game 3 (all Pitt losses) as Skinner couldn’t find the big save, the Former Canuck Silovs got the Pens their first win of the series with 28 of 30 shots turned away.

Former Canuck coach and Flyers general Tocchet probably has learned his name.

Kid seems pretty good in the playoffs. Don’t expect the Pens can climb out of the hole, but the Flyers aren’t exactly bullet proof.

Poll question: what’s better revenge, Burrows’ goal or Bertuzzi’s love tap on Steve Moore?

A long one got Arty tonight. Brilliant otherwise, though.

Yah, his future looks bright though. He only steps up in big games, doesn't matter if it for Latvia, Nucks, Abby or Pitts*.

He should get a nice raise in the offseason. :drink:

Signing Silovs wouldn't have won us any Cups but it would have saved us 3.65 mill per and a 2 year NMC/15 team NTC on a piece of shit.

All the wrong moves.

I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it, and the old guy somehow remains.

But we all know why. They thought they could build a team Hughes would not walk away from.

I am hearing that it was well known in the dressing for a few years that Quinn was going to bolt once his deal was up. Management didn’t want to deal with it, or perhaps were prevented from dealing with it earlier than they did. As far back as Bruce there it is the players knew or had a strong inclination that he wanted to go to the US preferably the east.

That was a tragic miscalculation but the entire reign of these fucking guys has been an unfortunate series of blunders.

Patrick Johnston put together a chronolgy of their transcations and it was absolutely stunning. I really believe it to be the worst record in team history, if not league history.

Just mistake, after mistake, after mistake.

And I'm not surprised that they've known Hughes was leaving all along.

And it helps explain so many of their moves. They were desperate to win while he was here. The worst thing that happened was us winning the Pacific. It allowed them to think they were close. But imagine where we would be organizationally if we dealt him 2 years ago along with JT and kept our 1st and second round picks.

Of course we fans would have blown a gasket because none of this was out there at that time.

Maybe they were close. If only JT & Petey could actually get along like Gretz/Mess, Sakic/Forsberg, Yzerman/Fedorov, Crosby/Malkin.... then maybe, just maybe. A few factors did kinda fuq them though, Demmer's durability and EP40's game just fell off a cliff.

I know, lots of what ifs, but I was always bullish of that team/core and really liked the way it was built, down the middle. I really thought it could go down in Nucks history as best ever for the franchise and maybe even actually win a Cup. For these reasons, I didn't mind them going for it and trying to do whatever it took to try to get Huggy to stay. JR even said that was a big reason why they extended his buds (ie: Garly, Demmer, Brockstar6). My bro said that he thinks that why they gave him the C a couple yrs ago as well, motivation/reason to stay and he's prob right.
