Watching the JR presser what became very obvious to me why he's still here and not out on his ass (for now).

If both guys are axed, who's taking the bullets? Him? Not a fucking chance. It's such a chicken shit way of dealing with the situation letting the old guy twist in the wind. JR firing PA is a smokescreen. Someone needed to be fired to appease the public, so let's let the second guy in command be the sacrificial lamb for now and let the big guy absorb the scrutiny so I don't have to. Big guy goes only when a new shield is in place.

Drance is reporting that Canucks have received permission to interview Kevyn Adams for the GM position.

The same Kevyn Adams that couldn't make the Sabres into anything more than a bottom-feeder, but after he was relieved of his duties, the very same team immediately goes into run for the ages and are now back in the playoffs.

If you listened to that piece you also heard that he wasn't entirely or solely culpable for how the shit went down there though. Not to mention it is his roster and acquisitions that are playing so well.

Also, Ruff is still pulling the lineup cards for them so it's not clear who or how or why they sucked. I do know that the guy who took over was quite the fuckup in Columbus himself so I can't see KA being the root of all evil over there

Firstly, I'm not praising Kack-a-lie-nen.

Clearly, the players themselves were just as culpable and if they went out of their way to lose on purpose to cause a change, well, that's just unprofessional and frankly unacceptable in any organization.

But where there's smoke, there's fire.

For us to go from one set of mismanagement to another... and now with a chance to finally make it right, Frankie is leaving the problem in charge of fixing his own mess. Just seems so Canucks that he's looking at a failure of a GM as a possible solution? Jeezus.

I'm sure Adams has done a lot of good. Look at the roster he's had a hand in assembling. But he's contributed to them drafting good young players year after year because they never take the next step to actually improving.

Why do we want that? Garbage that others have tossed out? Our owner isn't as patient as theirs has been.

In all honesty, I just don't understand why there's been such a narrative of hate against Benning. Is there that much difference than what Adams has done? Remember we haven't sucked badly enough to draft like they have for that long. How is he worse than TFGs? Truly. How?

Benning just sounded dumb as a stump. His moves and drafting were no better or worse than most GMs...pretty average actually.

Rutherford has been so terrible that he is entering into worst gm ever territory for one of the historically worst managed franchises in NHL history. That is seriously impressive
