Sounds like the Geez will be yapping at noon. In other words, Yes, they're running it back with the Ovaltine crew sans the Fall Guy.

Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)
I am going to make some assumptions here.
1) JR has convinced ownership a rebuild is required. Past PoHo could not do that. If true, firing him could set us back. He may still be needed around here to manage up to ownership while the rebuild is ongoing.
2) JR has said, it is rumoured, that the new GM will have full control on coaches. I take that to mean, literally, that whoever the hire will decide Footes fate.
3) Allvin was 1.5 feet out the door before Hughes was traded. What else could be the logical reason why JR took over handling that deal?
4) It is said that Allvin disagreed with a full rebuild and truly believed that a couple of good moves and the team could compete again. He sold this to the players he re-signed which is why players like Debrusk had an initial reaction that that was not what they signed up for. Although Boeser is a different fish as he wanted to be here. But Debrusk, Garland and perhaps Demko to some extent, were sold a different vision. Allvin believed his own spin. Too many injuries and unfortunate bounces. A couple players away from being competitive. But what would posses him to take Chytle back in a deal? Surely there were better options even if just picks. But he really felt we could compete. He completely failed to shore up the centre position. He took Kane instead of re-signing Suter. He failed to re-sign even one of Lindholm or Zadorov. He spent 4 years talking about the need for a cultural change but did little to address it. He oversaw a dysfunctional dressing room and allowed it to linger then explode and lost valuable trade currency in the process. He thought it would work itself out. He did some good adds to. Sherwood comes to mind. Blueger, Kuzmenko, Hronek, Debrusk, are not shabby. His drafting was better than what we had had in the past 10 years. But a lot of gafs too. I think we should have gotten more for Garland but he had to move him before July 1st. Anyway, I think he was just not on the same page in the end. Perhaps part of that was JR always being present and never fully giving him the reigns??

I think it's gotta be Johnson after they wouldn't let Nashville talk to him. Let Castonguay run Abby.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 7:28 am Well, what's the scuttlebutt on his replacement?
Likely won't be someone highly respected, who the fuck would work as a patsy for Rutherford - so likely going in a "younger up and coming" direction. As some would say, a Yes (Wo)Man.
Possible candidates:
Internal hire Options:
1) Ryan Johnson. He seems well liked by the players in Abby, and might be a strong leader up here.
2) To Tops point - Emilie Castonguay. Certainly fits the Yes Woman category. Her clients speak very highly of her, from her Agent Days. Though she didn't have many. Really no idea what type of GM she would make, don't know anything else about her.
3) Dark Horse - Roberto Aquilini. The ultimate F.U. to Canucks fans.
4) Rutherford Himself. The obvious, and perhaps most likely choice.
External hire Options:
1) No one in their right mind would work for these fucking guys.
2) Patrick Roy - see #1
3) Mike Milbury - see #1
3) Mike Keenan - see #1
4) Mark Messier - see #1
It's all about the lowered expectations

Re: Ownership and Management (These fuckin' guys™)
I think the announcement will be Patrick's fired, Foote's fired, we thank them both, its been a hard year. We really like Adam, but we need a new coach for a rebuild. Because there isn't a lot of time between now and the draft and free agency, I am going to take on the GM duties, and I will interviewing coaches.
My view? Failure starts at the top, the first to go should have been JR, and the latest that should have happened was after the Hughes trade so a new President would have an opportunity to give Allvin one pitch at explaining his vision and then (most likely) firing him and having a replacement in place to handle the deadline and time to evaluate Foote and the coaching staff to determine whether to keep or pitch them.
JR's last opportunity to fire PA without his fate being tied to PA (IMO, if I were in control) was during last year's fiasco. Once it became clear that the Canucks had to move on from EP40, Miller, or both, there is no longer the Benning core in place (and the prior vision of the GM was to build complements around that core better than Benning). And that's the time to say, okay PA, what's the new vision. And if it wasn't one that you were comfortable being on board with such that you sank or swam together, than you can PA at that point. Because that was the transition moment.

Not trying to get cancelled here, but also, what has Cammi done? Any seasoning for a front-office position, in a lesser league and moving her way up like RJ or the Sedins? Or was it just a DEI hire for Frank to say, "Look how progressive we are? Two wymen!"Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2026 10:42 am LOL Castonguay negotiates contracts. Maybe it's helped Ray get his foothold in while Cheech was "retired"? I'm sure step-son Ferraro was also hired due to his long, amazing media experience.
But it's not the minions who has sunked the Titanic. It's the TFGs that went full-steam ahead into the iceberg.
I hope they've left room in the rowboat for the women and children first or at least threw them the life preservers after tossing Gopher overboard.
